The Works Hand Car Wash

Terrible car washes — they miss spots and use dirty water so makes your car much worse — over charge for what they offer — don’t bother going here!

This review is for the The Works Hand Car Wash and not for Misty’s Diner.
I happened to have some spare time before a meeting around 9am on a Monday morning as I drove past this place. I noticed it was dead empty and thought I could get a quick wash. I had just arrived and I was only halfway out of my car when the attendant greeting me with a «your car is extra dirty mate, we will have to charge more». Wow, what a great way to welcome a new customer to your establishment! I responded by asking «how much more?» and the response was $ 30 extra! I laughed and laughed. I then pulled out a $ 50 bill (which was $ 1 more than the advertised price for the wash I was after) and asked if they wanted to wash my car for $ 50 or continue to stand around playing candy crush on their phones. They said no so I drove off planning never to come back again (except I did when I soon learned the exit was blocked by a delivery truck so I then had to awkwardly reverse back through the car wash building with the guys looking at me).
If there is a way to build a strong returning customer base its definitely to make up a random cost for an extra service that isn’t on the menu board and is based entirely on subjectivity.

Not particularly impressed with the $ 39.90 interior and exterior wash on my car. Inside the car was reasonably vacuumed. Outside still had stains. When I pointed this out to the guy, he merely stated that a more thorough job would cost $ 200! He reluctantly wiped off the stains on the roof of my car with a cloth. When I got home, I found that they failed to vacuum the boot altogether. Poor first impression. Slip shot work. Will not be returning.

The worst hand car wash ever!
Today I went for a ‘super’ (option 3) hand car wash for $ 33.90.
After an hour leaving the car with them, I came back in shock to find my car full of dirty spots and marks. I never find such a terrible work before. It seemed worst than when it came. The owner/​boss was so rude and claimed that it was stain from tree or possum. He asked for more money if I want it to be cleaned. I felt helpless. So I left with the car wash with dissappointment and dirty spots on my car. When I got home, I tried to wipe the ‘so called’ tree/​possum stain and it was gone easily (the owner/​boss claimed that it need special cleaning). Obviously, not only he lied about the stain, he was also being rude and unhelpful. I have to spend another hour cleaning the car after the car wash. (So what’s the point bring it to the car wash and pay them to clean it?)
This car wash is in my black book now. Banned for life. Never ever again!

Good hand car wash. Small lot on High Street with room for maybe 4 cars at a time. Now, I did have a 50% off coupon so I never know if you get the full meal deal when you pay with one. I had a «super» car wash which is regularly $ 33.90. The car was great inside, windows, vacuuming etc. A few areas weren’t washed properly at the front bottom of the car but I had windex wipes in the car and got rid of those small bits when I got home. I had a milkshake next door while I waited. I think maybe because of the coupon it might have been slightly rushed? I’d still go back, good hand car wash :-)
