One Point Seven Four

As the previous reviewer mentioned, I am of the buy less and of higher quality mindset. However, I am torn when your purchases are cursed from the beginning to having a short lifespan under your possession.
I don’t mind paying a premium for well designed and impeccable craftsmanship, but when I remember my last last pair of quality glasses in Berlin and losing them in 2 days. I cringe.
I did a search for cool funky glasses after I got back to Oz and this has been by far the largest selection of cool sunglasses from different designers. It is also one of the most expensive.
The people who work here are kind, not pushy and well informed.
If you care for nice sunglasses with a unique style I haven’t found better in Melbourne. I will be picking up my next pair here, after I mourn the financial loss of my last pair :/

About 2 years ago I bought a pair of spectacles that I freaking love. They’re like Dame Edna meets Clark Kent. Now, I’m a bit offbeat so it’s not unusual for me to fall in love with things that no one else likes. They’re a one-​off pair and I thought I’d never find glasses like these again and it was with much bemusement that I began being stopped by people on the street asking where they were from.
12 months later, in an attempt to take advantage of my private health insurance coverage I began scouring the city for another set of specs. A lengthy process, which ultimately ended up in me discovering One Point Seven Four on Greville Street.
I’m still wearing those rocking specs that cause people to stop me in the street, but now I have an equally awesome pair of prescription sunglasses in my collection (they do non-​prescription too). These ones however take the attention a step further. People yell across the street at me and out of cars alongside at traffic lights shout ‘WHEREDIDYOUGETTHOSEGLASSES!!!”.
As it happens One Point Seven Four is possibly the most perfectly curated spec shop I’ve ever visited. Or at least, it’s very much to my taste. It’s not OPSM or SpecSavers though, okay? So don’t go visiting and then whine they don’t have much stock or they’re expensive. What they have is carefully selected and is often handmade and in very limited runs, so you’re going to be paying more than you would for some mass-​produced frames.
Oh, and the service is just right.
