Kaya Health Clubs

A gym is a sanctuary, a place you go to transform your body and outlook on yourself. This is my belief. Too many times in gyms I’ve felt that this focus is lost. Not at kaya.
Kaya has a whole focus on health. They offer Pilates, yoga, spinning, Zumba & your general fitness options. They even have massage Personal Training, Nutritional Consultations, Herbal Medicine, Reiki Therapy, Chiropractic &
Kinesiology
The staff are lovely and helpful. The gym itself looks and smells unlike many gyms around at the moment. It’s more like a spa than a gym.
You won’t find too many of the stero typical «juice heads» at kaya. Just people going about there fitness business in a lush environment.
Kaya is a winner.

I’ve been waiting a while to write my review for Kaya as I wanted to make sure I had a few visits under my belt so I could give the most informed review.
To put it simply, I love this place. Kaya is unlike any other gym I have been to. For starters it doesn’t look like a gym, certainly doesn’t smell like a gym and it has a health resort feel.
Most importantly the staff are friendly and are trained professionals that are always available to assist you.
I have the full membership, this give me full access to the gym and have been making the most out of the Pilates classes. I can say that after 17 classes I definitely feel stronger and notice a difference in the way I look and feel. I am addicted.
I won’t go on and on but I want to highly recommend Kaya to anyone who lives in the area and is looking for a gym. You will not be disappointed.

A few elite events ago, I won a 3 months gym membership at Kaya, which was awesome — I love training and I’d always wanted to have a go at PIlates and Yoga. Kaya is renowned for both and there’s a reason why they are the Melbourne Storm’s preferred gym… To put it simply, the staff (PT, Pilates and Yoga instructors) are very experienced, love what they do, have state of the art facilities and the gym is owned by Christian Ruggeri and his wife Koula who are passionate about their gig so…
Kaya is a fully equipped gym with weights and cardio areas so you have your weights, chins, bench, treadmills, rowers, bikes and foam rollers for a good stretch to name a few. I’ve used Kaya mainly for PIlates and I love it. I go to Gaynor’s classes on Satuday arvo and I love it. I do a lot of high intensity and weight training so Pilates helps me work on my posture and strengthen my core. I really like how Gaynor’s always on the lookout for any movement that we might be doing incorrectly and she fixes us accordingly.
The treadies are cool, you have your personalised screen and you can choose a broad range of themes and terrains which is great. It’s more of a challenge and is less boring.
So… If you live in the area and want to get fit or if you’re shopping for a new gym, pop in and have a chat to Christian — he’s really nice and he’ll sort you out.
As for me… Well I can’t wait for Pilates this Sat!

Six months later, and I am still as big a fan of Kaya’s as when I first stepped foot in their doors. After two major injuries (back and knee) left me weak and imbalanced, I wasn’t confident I’d feel like my old self anytime in the near future.
Kaya has made reformer classes accessible again, and due to this, I’ve noticed a significant increase in my strength, flexibility and focus over the past six months. I have a long way to go, but Kaya’s friendly environment, amazing instructors and top-​notch equipment encourage me to keep going and be my best self.
Instructors are sticklers for form, and always encourage doing exercises properly instead of impressing your neighbor or maxing out on reps. This philosophy alone builds my trust in Christian and Koula’s commitment to providing a supportive space for everyone.
I’d also like to add that Tanya, a pilates instructor and naturopath, is available for naturopathy appointments and is an empathetic and intuitive listener. Highly recommended!

I was one of those suckers who signed up to a gym just days after New Years Eve. I had my doubts that this would stick, and I must admit the weekly fee of $ 30 was a little financially daunting.
And then, within a matter of days, I became one of those incredibly irritating gym people. Before Kaya, I always saw gym as this dreaded den of sweat, darkness, pain and discomfort, a place to go only for the sake and enjoyment of brunch. Now gym is one of my favourite things to do. The reformer pilates classes are phenomenal. All of the instructors are hugely experienced, with either most or all having a physio background. The class size isn’t daunting, the atmosphere is friendly and encouraging, and everything is pristine.
Pilates, taught well, is genuinely one of those physical activities that is both sustainable and rewarding. I’m getting serious results for once! For those who are put off by the price, I ask you to consider how much you spend on clothing, food, alcohol, etc, and realize that sometimes it’s worth spending a little extra on your health. You won’t look back (unless you’re in camel pose).
