Hervey Bay R.S.L. & Services Memorial Club Inc.

This is not a place I would choose to dine out. This is a place where people ask me to meet them. It is very entertaining, wondering what will happen tonight? Last night was no exception, One wrong meal, one meal with a hair in it, my meal, burnt and cold. They were very apologetic, they always are. One time we were forgotten about, after an hour and a half someone came up to us and apologised. The meals aren’t that cheap either. I suppose most of the time they get it right 50% of the time.

So my partner and I were taken here by Granny Delia while holidaying in Hervey Bay. I don’t usually frequent RSL’s, but I had an enjoyable time nonetheless. Starting off by watching an oldy trying to chat up Delia by calling her delicious Delia. The lady from Bolton’s still got it apparently.
So enough about old people on the pull, lets describe this place. It’s typical of a lot of RSL’s. It’s got a large bar area with the obligatory slot machines for those with a gambling vice. And then you have a snack restaurant area and separate main meals sitting area. You also have to sign in on entry which is mandatory for all RSL’s.
Obviously the great thing about RSL’s is the price of drinks and food is cheap. Hervey Bay RSL is no different, offering $ 10 specials on a lot of mains. The food is always going to be no frills pub style, but I actually really enjoyed the meal I had here. Plus the portions are huge, which is always a bonus if you haven’t had breakfast as was the case for me at the time.
I tried the curry, where as my dining partners chose the fish n’ chips and roast beef respectively. All left feeling content, Delia had another flirt on the way out and an enjoyable time was had by all.
