Popped in for a late Friday lunch. Lasagne was surprising good, with a nice side salad. Coffee was(as usual) excellent, and passing street traffic entertaining. Always a pleasure, topped off by friendly staff and some delightful unicorn art on the coffee. :)(See pic, unbelievable!)

Velvet has been well known for great coffee for several years. It’s one of those coffee shops that I feel compelled to drop into when I’m nearby. Everyone is polite, and the baristas know what they’re doing. Makes for a great experience.

Some say that you haven’t lived life if you haven’t sampled the rich, smooth, velvety taste from Velvet Espresso. Try one and you’ll know what I mean. In an ideal location on King St, just off St Georges, the team of baristas are ever so keen and ready to service the palate of Perth’s finest coffee aficionado’s.

Dropped into Velvet last Friday for my Friday morning coffee, as I have never bought my coffee from here before despite walking past it constantly. I must say that it was the best black coffee I have had in Perth! I ordered the regular which was $ 3.90 but it was closer in size to a small, so next time I will check out the larger size as it simply wasn’t big enough for me! Great tasting coffee! Quick service!

Nutty, creamy, VELVETY coffee is what Velvet is awesome for. You will no doubt find a queue here every morning and even in the afternoon when a perk me up is needed. But waiting is no issue when coffee as good as Velvet’s in line!

My day job takes me all over Perth, which I love. It means I get to meet different people each day, and more importantly get to try new food and coffee everywhere I go. Recently whilst in the city on a recommendation of a work colleague I decided to try Velvet Espresso. I needed a break and wanted to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Velvet Espresso is a small coffee shop on St Georges Terrace. The coffee is good. I understand why people speak so highly of it. This isn’t a place you can really sit and enjoy your coffee and food though. It is busy with a constant stream of cubicle farmers marching in to grab a coffee before they scuttle back to their cubicles for the day. Do as they do, grab your coffee to go, but go for a wander down the terrace and enjoy the sunshine whilst you can.

You know there are about a hundred different places you can get coffee in the CBD, about forty of those serve barista style coffee and about ten of those ten of those are worth my money. Velvet definitely sits in that top ten. Creamy, «vevetty» coffee served in a velvetty brown setting. They also do a small breakfast menu with the usual suspects. The muesli’s pretty good.

This place is undoubtedly a very popular coffee spot in the CBD. Their coffees are absolutely raved about from the creaminess of the espresso and the amount of milk etc etc. They also have a basic breakfast menu to get your work day started. The one downfall here is that is becomes quite unenjoyable to sit down and drink your coffee here due to the fact that clientele are squeezing through the doors. Although the tinned sardine element is a great sign for business, its not so much for the dine-ine experience. Maybe they should consider changing the layout. Regardless, great coffee!
