Just next to Allendale Square this Vietnamese spot is the perfect place to grab a quick and healthy lunch for office workers especially! We tried the super fresh Vietnamese rice paper rolls that came with the tastiest peanut, chilli dipping sauce. I also tried an orange, carrot, ginger juice that was gigantic and perked me right up since I was unwell. I will definitely be returning to try more items from their menu it’s such a fresh, healthy, spot filled with sunshine that is perfect for 2016.

This place is right near my office so I’m usually there at least once a week. Everything is reasonably priced, with the option to dine in café-style or take away for a quick and healthy lunch. My go to choice is the chicken noodle salad with the fabulous addition of a tasty spring roll. The recent addition of the rice dishes with a delicious egg are a great option. The rice paper rolls are a steal at $ 3 and jam packed full of flavours. If bahn mi is more your thing, they have some great options here and all under $ 10. Everything has the options of chillis and peanuts, more or less to suit your tastes. I’ll be honest, I’ve tasted better phở but it’s still a tasty option. If you love Vietnamese food and fancy a twist, definitely recommend you give this place a try

I have a bit of an obsession with Vietnamese food, I could easily eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner. Urban Bowl had been on my radar for some time but I hadn’t got down to that end of the CBD to try it out. It is positioned across the road from Allendale Square where Aroma Café once was. The fit out is excellent, they boast a really simple ordering service, and heaps of seating inside and out. A great selection of food to chose from including Vietnamese Salads, Banh Mi, Phở and Rice Paper Rolls. Prices were pretty good with most dishes hovering between $ 8.00 and $ 12.00 — rice paper rolls are just $ 3.50 for a single roll with sauce and I like that you can order just one if you wish. I found the food to be freshly prepared and full of flavor. Definitely worth a visit if you have a hankering for Vietnamese food and you are down the east end of the Terrace,

I love a good banh mi, so I was excited to see what Urban Bowl had to offer when they opened up last year. I’ve since tried them on a couple of other occasions. Sadly, there’s nothing to write home about. First letdown — no traditional fillings. Say what?! There’s nothing more delightful than a crisp baguette, stuffed with Vietnamese mystery meats(cold cuts) and all the accompaniments. Instead you have the options of braised pork, grilled beef brisket, chargrilled chicken, or tofu and mushroom. I’ve tried both the pork and chicken and found the flavours to be lacking, despite the addition of chilli and siracha mayo. The bread itself is kinda stodgy too. Overall an underwhelming banh mi experience. While not terrible, there are better options in the Perth CBD(Le Vietnam and City Provisions [Hay Street store] are my two picks), hence my rating of two stars.

Good work lunch choice for modern Vietnamese. Place is great for a coffee catchup(quiet so you can hear each other speak!) and they serve the best value breakfast in Perth. 2×62degree poached eggs, Vietnamese pickles, bread and coffee for $ 9! Love the quality and flavour and I followed it up with a massive piece of pandan sponge for a satisfying start to the day.

A fantastic new option for lunch in the CBD. Great food and quick service in a central location.
