There is a fabulous range of jewellery which is sterling silver set with magnificent stones, ideal for gifts for your friends or yourself. In addition there are tarot cards, books, CDs, dream catchers, fairies, candles, incense and more! The merchandise is all ethically sourced and the workers are paid a fair price ensuring the communities grow and survive. So kudos to the team at Blue Budha for spreading the love.
The staff are kind and helpful and seem to have a knack in gauging exactly what you are looking for. They have are very knowledgeable when it comes to the products on offer and will find you crystals that are perfect for you and your spiritual journey. Looking for love? Rose quartz is what you need, wear it close to your heart and love will come a-​calling! A small citrine in your pocket will bring prosperity into your life. Apatite will help you lose weight. I have yet to put it to the test!
There are tarot readers, mediums, psychic readers and clairvoyants in house. Make a booking and let them guide you and show you your future! Forewarned is forearmed or so they say!

Hippie shops are made of awesome. And the Blue Buddha is one of my absolute favourites.
It’s full of delicate, colourful trinkets, gem stones, exquisite, unusual jewellery, new age books, and always smells like incense.
There’s even tarot card reading out the back if you’re into that kind of thing. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and you can’t help but feel calmer just from stepping into the store.
It’s the perfect store to visit when you want to buy something special and different for a friend — or for yourself.

The Blue Buddha is such a refreshing store once you step into it you are lost and forget about the hustle and bustle and heinous freaks of the City. I love trinket stores that where the items are timeless, thoughtful and speak for themselves. As you stand in this jungle of stones, dream catchers, incense, beads, glass art and more you can hear the whispers of the tarot readers to their client from behind a curtain. The earthy feeling is overwhelming and you can’t help but feel calm in here with the soft music playing and the smiling friendly shop assistants who don’t mind you browsing for as long as you like. There is a great selection of books here as well about spiritual healing, how to read tea leaves, and 100 places to have sex before you die.

For me, the best part of The Blue Budha is that while it’s in the very middle of Perth inside the Picadilly Arcade, when you go inside you feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of the city. Not only can you stop in this tiny store to browse the large array of silver and natural stone jewelry or their spiritual books, you can stop in on your lunch hour (or any hour) and get a fortune/​tarot reading with their very own psychic. It’s only $ 35 for fifteen minutes, so why not come in and see what your future has in store for you.

I have a weird fascination with spiritual, new-​agey type shops like The Blue Budha; I don’t believe in any of the ‘inner energy’ stuff, or whatever it is, but I can’t help looking around in fascination at all the pretty stones and ornaments. That is if I can stand the overwhelming incense fragrance that hangs around the shop for long enough. The best thing about this shop is the jewellery cabinet; it’s got some gorgeous silver rings and earrings set with pretty coloured stones — and regardless of whether said stones are good for the chakra (the cabinet is also full of cards explaining the ‘powers’ of each stone) they look very pretty. There is also a selection of amusing greetings cards outside the front of the store for $ 1 — one of which was my very first purchase upon arriving in Perth, to send home for a friend’s birthday. That alone is enough to secure The Blue Budha a place in my heart.

If the little book of calm was a store in the city, this would be it, located in a small arcade off Haye street, the Blue budha is where harmoy meets consumerism. I believe in healing powers and a natural organic energy but when I see polished rocks professing «strength» for $ 12 I find myself looking for the «placebo» and «believer» stones to cure my inner sceptic. The shop is pleasant and has a calming quality to it– as incense fills the open space you are free to browse through endless images, elements and reading material. (should you so choose to tap into your inner witch or warlock)
There are beautiful figures and gorgeous silver jewellery in glass display cases– topped, quite fittingly, with unicorn horns. (material– unknown, but I didn’t want to pick it up for fear of being disenchanted with a «made in china» label) There is an array of mythical memorabilia for the home, such as pillows, candle holders, posters and blankets displaying saucy minxes seducing dragons. A novel concept.
While some of the merchandise is a bit cliché, (and overpriced to a cynic, but on par with most super-​stone stores) there is some beautiful, original work, designed by the shop keeper. She has a beautiful energy and also supports some of her friends work. When I was there a month ago she was showcasing some of her friends’ glass jewellery in the window opposite the counter. Elegant and priced accordingly (around the $ 50-​$ 80 range) ~ loved the gold flecks and I’m all for supporting local artists.
The crystals and spell books aren’t my scene but the artwork has enchanted me. Blue Budha I’ll rub your belly any day.
