Nice. I always order the kampua special when I’m there. Great place to easy, very busy at times. Owner is friendly although sometimes in a rush. Great Malaysian place at a reasonable price.

This café offers hawker dishes under $ 10. They are of a different style to the Singaporean and Malaysian variety that now populate Perth suburbs. Very different flavours and includes specialty dishes like Kolo Mee, Kampua Mee, and Sarawak Laksa which are difficult to find locally on menus as regular dishes. The flavours and tastes are genuine. The wok fried dishes come with the fragrance of the wok and lifts the taste of the dish. You cannot fake this. Compliments to the chef on this one. If you are a laksa fan, seek out the Sarawak Laksa,(empty stomach required as the serving is huge), as this is a non-curry based laksa and different from the majority of laksas on offer in Perth. Ask for a slice of lime or lemon if it doesn’t come with it to bring the flavours together. The way this place works for ordering is a bit of a mystery to me. It’s always been a bit different. The first time I came here, I was ordering take away and it was unclear where I had to order. People were being tended to at the hot bainmarie and at the counter. I ended up ordering at the counter. The second time I was shown to a table but then had to order from the counter as no one came to take my order. The third time I was shown a table and got table service. If you do come, remember to ask the person who serves you. This place has a steady stream of diners throughout the day and is overflowing at peak dining times. Definitely terrific value for money coming out of this little family run café. It’s done so well that another has opened in Kardinya. Hopefully this alleviates some of the traffic congestion in the small shopping car park here.
