Balls: Discount Bookworld have them. It’s a big call, to say that you’re Perth’s only bargain bookshop, but that’s how this shop rolls. They’re not afraid to put that stuff on their signage, for all to see. There is currently a similar outlet up on the first floor of Forrest Chase. One can only assume that while the owners of Discount Bookworld must be aware of them, they do not consider the wares contained therein to have an impressive enough value-to-cost ratio to warrant the descriptor«bargain». Balls. This is a kind of sweet place to look around for cheap things though. You’ll find all kinds of cookbooks, pulp fiction, kid’s books and non fiction in here. It’s the kind of place that stocks nothing you need but a lot of things you will want. I thoroughly recommend coming in for a browse. After all, they are the only discount bookshop in the whole city*. *: In case this is not clear from the rest of this review: they are not.

DBW offers a fairly decent range at reasonable prices. Selection mostly focuses on fantasy and fiction so if you are not into that there may not be much for you here. But if you are then you may be lucky enough to finally find that rare book everyone has been recommending. I saw quite a nice selection of Robbin Hobb’s work which I struggled to find few years back. Too bad my reading time has dwindled basically to nothing. If I could I would have bought all of it and shut myself off from the outside world for a month or two. Alas… This isn’t a great bookshop like Boffins, but it is an Ok bookshop. If you are looking for something, particularly fiction, check them out, they might have it.
