As a platinum ambassador member of the IHG group, I try to stay at IHG hotel when travelling domestically or abroad. My stay here was no different. On arrival the external appearance was clean and presentable. The inside was also clean, with quite a few patrons relaxing on the various lounges within the foyer. The front staff member was very polite & well mannered. Thanked me for being a loyal IHG member & guided me in the right direction for the free parking in the car park next door. He did however fail to point out where the hotel elevators were, but after snooping around a couple of corners, I found them easy enough. On first impressions, the room appeared to look fairly clean and roomy. The bathroom was extremely outdated, which I believe needs a good olé renovation. The bar fridge had a problem with the little top shelf freezer flap missing, so it did end up freezing some of our drinks. The freezer also needs s bit of a defrost. The restaurant downstairs looked like it would have delicious meals & offered room service, however it was s little over priced. When having a shower, I noticed that the towel rack with the new towels was just under an air conditioning vent which blew out air. Within the vent, it was actually caked with dirt & dust that blows directly onto the brand new towels. Very disgusting & first time I have actually noticed this at a hotel before. The bed felt a little lumpy, however I did get a pretty good nights sleep. This hotel has potential, but needs a good renovation & attention to detail with house keeping.
