If you missed the first Multicultural Festival, and chances are you did, you missed out. Where else are you going to spend an evening drinking German beer with Russian performers watching an Indonesian dance troupe? This festival had all the important elements — a huge assortment of international food, enjoyable entertainment, and a sprawling beer garden. Plus entry was free and it wasn’t over crowded! There was an epic amount of tasty food on offer and the prices were better than the typical CBD event mark-up. An assortment of international bands took to the stage throughout the weekend as well as a fun folk dancing competition that a friend compared to a «less stuck up version of Eurovision.» The festival had a community vibe and the lack of crowds made things a lot more pleasant. There were enough seats for us all to sit down! No insane lines for food and drinks! A chance to chat with vendors and other patrons! I’m hoping the lower attendance did not have too much of an impact on the vendors’ bottomline and the festival will be back in full swing. This is one I’ll be keeping an eye out for next year.
