Salon quality grooming is an expense I’ve long lamented as a budget-conscious female, but trips to Venustus guarantee money well spent. Don’t come if you’re the type after an express, 30-minute facial — this place is the real deal for thoughtful beauty treatments that offer the utmost in relaxation. I’ve been a few times and always leave feeling that the staff actually care about their clients’ experience. While the aromatherapy facial is advertised as including an upper body massage, I’ve been consistently offered a leg massage or foot scrub free of charge as well. It may be $ 132, but the massage component of the treatment is lengthy and oh-so indulgent so it feels more like a discounted two-in-one deal. If you can, ask for a treatment with Mel — her tiny little hands are unexpectedly strong. Hands of wonder, I tell you!(That sounds strange, but you know what I mean). They also leave the steamer on for the majority of the session, which I’m a big fan of. There is of course the requisite skincare product up-sell once you leave the treatment room, and while pricey($ 49 for a cleanser and moisturizers at $ 59 each) their namesake brand of organic, high quality items last a long time and are worth the investment. I really believe they’ve made a difference to my skin and happily recommend them to friends.
