I needed to look like Jesus. This is what I needed to do. I had purchased a whole lot of fleece from Lincraft and had spent two and a half days sewing it into something that resembled a tunic. I had the long hair and the plan was to straighten it, even though chances are the son of God possessed curly hair. All I needed now were a good pair of Jesus Sandals. I entered C’s Flashback and perused the shoes, a shoe perusal I did choose. I soon came across a pair of faded brown leather sandals with slightly rusty metallic buckles that shone out from the crowd of footwear and screamed to me, ‘I am the way, the truth and the right… Pair of sandals for you.‘ I purchased these sandals and completed my costume, but not before having a further look around, simply as an activity of interest. They have a wide selection of clothes, some great, some not so much, they have hats, coats, several sporting jerseys and woollen, possibly faux fur coats and accessories galore. I’ll finish this by saying that, if you’re ever looking for something specific, there’s a good chance the lady at the counter will know whether or not it’s in stock, but if you’re just their for a wander and a browse, there are many an earthly delight to tempt your vintage chic tastes.

This is a recycled clothes boutique, it smells a bit like mothballs when you enter. The clothes seem to be of a very rustic colour. Much like the landscape of the 70’s. The great thing about pre-loved clothes it that you get to see their durability, you know the zips not going to bust in the first wash type thing. There were many brand lables in this store. I saw Louis Vuitton wallets, fantastic Nine West red stilletto boots. There was a great range of black leather jackets for males too. I reckon you might be surprised if you were to go through the racks thoroughly. However, because most of the items are brand lables, it feels like you’re still paying for them, most items although funky, were above $ 30. Pretty steep for 2nd hand.

C’s Flashback is one of Newtown’s many second hand clothing stores it is kind of like stepping into a time warp going inside all these clothes discarded from the 80’s. I wonder if C’s is handing on to all this stock in the hope that one day they will come back in fashion and with the fashion world’s nature, quite possibly they will, but with the selection I saw even though 80’s clothes might return, I’m not sure these specific ones will be included. I am being very harsh, I’m sure they have some good clothes, I just didn’t look hard enough and that’s the thing with these places, if you dig deep enough you will find your treasure. C’s has been in Newtown as long as I can remember, so the treasure must be hidden in there somewhere.
