I prefer Priceline pharmacies to the others any day — they’re friendlier, have a larger range of products, and are generally cheaper. Norwood is one of the newer Priceline locations, so I’ll cut them some slack in terms of their customer service. Though they were friendly and chatty, the staff was at times a little disorganised, e.g. not knowing where some items were located, the desk being unattended were long periods of time, etc. These sorts of things tend to bother me less when the store’s employees are putting effort into their work and trying their hardest. One thing I will mention that dissatisfied me was the service at the pharmacy desk. Once I had to stock up on some antihistamines for my temperamental hayfever. For a pretty commonly purchased drug, I thought that the numerous questions about whether my condition was genuine and my symptoms were a bit unusual. I know that it’s the responsibility of a pharmacist to make sure that customers won’t be abusing pharmaceuticals, but hayfever tablets? Really? I’m sure that popping over-the-counter antihistamines in copious quantities is every junkie’s idea of a wild night; God forbid an overdose!

I love pharmacies. And not because I’m a medication fiend. It’s the beauty products and gorgeously packaged little items that get me: while I’m waiting for a prescription, I inevitably browse around and BAM! Before I know it I’ve bought a bunch of stuff I never intended on getting and don’t really need. Priceline Pharmacy knows this, and works to my weaknesses, with a range of personal supplies, makeup, haircare, dyes, moisturisers and cute things galore to browse. While I can’t speak about the pharmacy itself, I can tell you they’ve got a good selection of all the other stuff, with the likes of Revlon, Rimmel, Maybelline and other counter makeup brands, as well as a pretty good range of hair care — perhaps the biggest range on the Parade, with decent prices too. Plus, there are always enough staff to help out and at the counters, and the opening hours are really good by Adelaide standards. A great addition to the Parade!
