Omg this place satisfied my Vietnamese cravings! This place is better than ok, it’s excellent! We ordered stuffed chicken wings(my fav), grilled squid, flaming beef & fried rice, roast duck & dry noodles and mixed Vegies. Both our mains were delicious but I would have to say my flaming beef was soft and tender and melted in my mouth. Service was quick and friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend ok Vietnamese to everyone that wants good quality Vietnamese.

Dined in at Okay restaurant– we normally dine in next door at Tra Vinh. I had the rice vermicilli with spring rolls and grilled pork. It didn’t have the flavour and kick as the one i usually get at Tra Vinh but it did the job. It was much more pricer too– I think its a bit more fancier! I think ill stick to the cheap cheerful and delicious!

This was my second visit to Okay Restaurant as the first time, the quality of The Laksa Soup had really impressed me. This time was no different, not only was it presented well, it tasted amazing, far better than a run of the mill laksa. There was plenty of Chicken, Fish, Tofu, Fish Balls and all the fresh ingredients you would expect from an establishment that wants to impress. Well done also to the staff who were attentive and very efficient. My partner had the Duck and Rice, the Duck was moist and the sauce was delicious with the rice shining for its moisture and morishness… will definitely be going again to try some of the other dishes that were tantalising with there smell as they were being served to other tables.

Love this place for cheap and yummy Asian food. Ordered the crispy chicken and rice — it was a very generous serving, the service was fast and friendly and the food was reasonably priced.

It’s more than OKAY! I’ve been here few times with friends and family, and the service/food have been excellent on all occasions. I’ve been fortunate enough to try several dishes here — flaming beef and rice; raw beef and beef tripe hofun soup; braised duck noodle soup, and broken rice with pork chop. They were all very flavoursome and tasty, in my opinion, one of the best Vietnamese restaurants out there. The prices are also decent for the quality of food and the serving size. If your in Northbridge or nearby, with plenty of on street parking this restaurant is easy to find and gain access to. If you haven’t already tried for yourself I suggest you do soon!

I can’t believe I haven’t already written a review for Okay. This has been my go-to for a cheap and cheerful dinner since I went to my first UYE nearly a year ago. I don’t need to rant and rave about how good this place is — everyone else has already done that, but seriously — believe the hype. The food is really tasty and fresh. Some of my favourite dishes are the spiced beef noodle soup, lamb cutlet entrée and flaming beef and rice. The service is friendly and attentive. Some of the best I’ve come across in Perth(for non-fine dining). Prices are great. Noodle soups start around the $ 11 mark and dishes with rice are about $ 15. Every time I take a friend there or recommend it, they have returned again and again — that’s how good it is.

This place is better than okay! I’ve been here twice and found the food to be served quickly and very tasty. Portions are huge too but they are only too happy to give you the leftovers to take home. Last time we turned up at short notice, quite late on a Saturday night — which also happened to be Valentine’s day and coincide with the Giants for Perth Festival plus Fringe World! As a result, it took a while to get water and service, but once we did, the meals came out quickly. A very friendly man, possibly the owner or manager, apologised several times for the delay. Will definitely be back.

Me and wifey came back here this weekend for the 2nd time. Tried the grilled pork chop with broken rice and it was tasty! I’d like the grilled pork chop portion to be bigger though. It is the star of the dish. Definitely will have it again(hopefully with a bigger serving!) Service was again excellent, friendly and fast. Can’t wait to try the other dishes.

I had the Phở with raw beef & meatballs while hubby had the Bún bo hue which were both really yummy, both broths were packed full of flavour! We also ordered the Stuffed Squid which was really nice, only downside was the portion was rather small for its price. Service was friendly & quick, didn’t wait long for our food. I think this is my new favourite Viet restaurant :) Can’t wait to try the other items!

I have always drove past this place & kept meaning to drop in. The other night after the Sunset Wines festival myself & the girls went here, finally. It was well worth it. Very tasty dishes. I’d the fresh rice rolls which were the nicest I’ve had in a long time, so fresh like they had just been made up even though it was 8.30/9pm. Then I’d a veggie dish with a lovely soy sauce. Veggies with just enough crunch, cooked to perfection. The girls had wontons & some other dish for starters which they both enjoyed. Then they had crispy chicken & a beef dish which they both agreed was delicious. The guy serving us was so lovely even though he was run off his feet. It seems to have a family atmosphere with no screaming children — bonus! Will definitely be back.

I live for chasian food aka cheap Asian delights! NB has most of my favourites. I decided to try Okay as I had never been before. Service was quick, the food was delicious I had the duck rice paper rolls and the crispy chicken with egg noodle dry soup. I love a classic noodle dish with vegetables and meat, simple, nutritious and delicious! I am definitely keen to try the rest of the menu I hope this place stays around

Friendly Service Cheap prices I found the noodle soups to be much oilier than i would like. The food & drinks were good but I just don’t think they are up to the standards of the surrounding places. I am still going to stick with my favourite Vietnamese joint down the road but this is a nicer option if you wanted to have a business lunch.

I dont want to tell you how good this place is, in fear of it becoming so popular my taste buds are made to wait longer for their delicious phở. But… Okay is the real deal. Wonderfully friendly service, amazing sweet salty saucy food & very well priced.

Ermaguuuurd this place is far better than just Okay! I missed the UYE here recently cos I was too busy imbibing elsewhere, but not to be outdone, I shipped myself off here at the next available opportunity. And bloody glad I did too! This place reminds you how a dining experience really should be, in Perth, anywhere, really. It gets the five ticks from me for the five aspects a night out in a restaurant should contain: 1. Service — personable, attentive, helpful really just damn charming 2. Location — great spot at the top end of the ‘strip’ at Northbridge, on William Street. There’s not as much competition for parking spots, even on a Friday night. Plus, the most hospitable business owner will even give you his own parking spot around the back! 3. Décor — it’s bright and cheerful, set out on two levels and it has wheelchair access. No broken crockery here. I particularly liked the matching pretty shell-inlaid chopsticks. Yes, I said matching. Amazing, I know. 4. Price — We shared the fabulous stuffed chicken wings(2 pieces), one chicken and one beef dish and a vegie dish. All that came to just under $ 65. Happy Friday to us! 5. Finally, the food(of course) — delicious, tender, nicely presented, colourful and *flavourful*. I could have done with a bit more oomph to my chilli, but I had the option of the condiment tray on the table(hot chilli, vinegar, soy, Hoi Sin, salt, pepper). Now, surprisingly(for anyone that knows me) I didn’t take any gastroporn shots. Shocking, I know. But I was on a date and didn’t want to blow it.(It went well, thanks). Instead, enjoy some from fellow reviewers, or, better still, get your bums down and try it for yourself. After all, at least 8 sensible people who’ve posted reviews cannot be wrong. This place is da bomb! Sorry, don’t know what the alcohol option is; whether they are licensed or BYO. We just had the cooled tap water that kept magically appearing at our table when our existing bottle emptied. There’s a bottle shop about 80m up the road, just in case.

Other Unilocalers have not lied-Phở was great. Flavourfull stock, not obtrusive seasoning and gresh condiments. Just the way I like it. Chicken wings were mediocre though, but the service very prompt and kind. It’s har to choose between the many great Vietnamese places in Perth, but this is a keeper

No, not Okay, really good. I had to try this newbie out after so many trusted Unilocaler’s reviews pouring in. I knew the customer service would be great as soon as I walked in, because I asked for change for the parking machine, and the owner(I believe) said ‘Oh no you come and park in my parking spot’. Wow, that’s pretty nice. We sat down to read the extremely extensive menu, mostly Vietnamese, with a splash of other Asian dishes. What makes this place different, apart from the next level customer service, is the great range of drinks and desserts that you don’t often see at the other Asian restaurants that line William Street. The fresh coconut juice was so fresh and perfectly sweet. I need to head back for those green jelly desserts that were siting in the fridge. On the night I had the spicy squid which was massive and delicious. I also had the pad Thai, which again was a really large portion, and tasted great. I tried a lot of my dining companions meals(as you do) and they were all great. What surprised me was the high quality of the meat used in the dishes, again something that sometimes you don’t always find in a lot of Asian restaurants in Northbridge. Could this place get any better, oh yes it can it’s BYO!

Came here last night to meet some fellow Unilocalers and test prior claims. Have to say, it stacks up pretty well. The waitstaff brought out a whoooole lot of condiments — which is always a win, as I’m a big fan of ‘customising’ your own dish. Food all looked great, and came with sides of a mix of fresh(and I actually mean fresh, not just raw) additions on the side. Mint leaves, sprouts, julienned ginger, carrot, cucumber… nice refreshing bits with which to intersperse the meal. I had the crispy duck soup with dry noodles — and again, impressed by the amound of ingredients. Noodles had a lovely sticky soy in the bottom, plus chopped herbs, and soup on the side had chunks of… unidentifiable tastiness. All in all pretty darn impressed, and great as I think safe to say that you can come in with friends, chip in $ 20 each for a main and be pretty safely covered. Will be back fo’ shiz.

So I couldn’t wait to try this new Vietnamese restaurant — ‘OKAY’ restaurant… Seeing as though I’ve heard so many great reviews. With a name like that, you could easily understand why I hadn’t thought much of it. Surprisingly I was greeted by lovely waitstaff who all smiled graciously, whilst responding ever so politely to all my questions. Food is so tasty, dishes are reasonably priced compared to other Vietnamese eateries and I cannot believe the portions that were served! Just massive! I was eating and wondering at the same time: how will they make a profit? Well I know now! It’s because diners will definitely come back! I think another local Vietnamese restaurant has lost us to Okay. So sorry but the service here kicks butt! On both occasions I had lunch and they had a constant and steady flow of hungry diners. As I write this review, I’m thinking about Okay Restaurant again for lunch today!

Perhaps it’s the rising rent or just bad feng shui, but there’s something about this venue that sees new businesses frequently come and go. However it looks like Okay might be here to stay. As a regular at the neighbouring Tra Vinh Restaurant, I was no stranger to the existence of this new eatery. Nonetheless it still took a TV commercial on a foreign channel to motivate my attendance. Having experienced Saigon by Night(the previous business in this location), I prepared myself for disappointment. But I was very surprised to find that the dishes were well presented, serving sizes were generous, ingredients were fresh, and the food was served promptly. I must add that the premises were clean and the furniture tasteful. But what really separated this place from other Vietnamese restaurants was the service. It was so refreshing to be served by a Vietnamese waiter who was actually friendly, attentive, helpful, and able to speak both English and Vietnamese fluently! A highlight was the spicy beef salad– a great sharing dish packed with fresh flavours and nice textures. The phở dac biet also deserved a mention. Dad couldn’t stop commenting on how tasty it was, even adding that it was better than Mum’s! This place claims to be fine dining so some dishes are a couple dollars dearer than usual. Rest assured that it is definitely well worth it. The 7 of us ordered 8 dishes and 4 drinks for only $ 120. That said, I think it’s fair to say that this place is better than just Okay.

The meals… pork chop with broken rice, a small bowl of Tom Yum Tom for one and braised duck with thin egg noodles with an entrée of squid fritters The place… new, tidy and modern The service… fast and polite Price… $ 42.00 Overview… The pork dish was a classic example of vietnamese street food with all the textures, the Tom Yum Tom was a sour but not hot version of the thai soup, the duck soup was nice and savory and the fritters melted in the mouth, in all a good result.
