Golden King BBQ

I used to come here quite often when I was living in Northbridge. I would get roast meat or roast duck noodles if I eat in. The meals always come with a huge bowl of soup. I like the soup so much, I would pay for it if I buy takeaway meals — usually half a roast duck that I’d devour when I get back to the apartment.
Oh so good.
The staff are friendly and attentive. Even though I no longer live in Northbridge, I still come here every now and again to have noodles and roast duck!

Just Really had an awful experience in Golden King !!!
Firstly I ordered my two meat dish on rice with a Chinese lady who could barely speak a word of English!!! She came back to ask me twice what our order was, twin meat and sweet & sour pork plus wontons. stil she mixed up the order. i really don’t understand why they let this lady takes customers orders.
Secondly was very average, pork was too heavily salted and not crispy while the duck had a lot of fat plus didn’t have a lot of meat as it was mostly bone!!.
Finally service was poor wait a while to be served a lot of noises as we were right next door to the kitchen area plus have to asked for water by the end. That’s why I gave just 2 stars !!

Learnt to use chopsticks here. Good food, good service, and an ok ambience. Considering there is about 300 Asian BBQs in the Northbridge area this one is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a quick, cheap, and decent meal.

I have been getting Golden King BBQ, since I was 7 at the original restaurant in Morley, I am so happy they have branched out to Northbridge as well. Their Roast Pork, clear soup and ginger and spring onion side sauce is filled so much taste, that I know once you go to either of the locations you will be back there in no time. Also try the Garlic Chicken! YUM!

This place is right by where I go to school which makes it beyond convenient. The prices are cheep and they have a massive menu, almost to big. After reading for hours in class I can get a little lost in their almost 10 page menu. The décor defnitly leaves something to be desired. It’s a bit dark and really bland. I usually get my meal to go and sit in the Cultural Centre
I usually go for a duck dish because duck is a serious weakness of mine. They also have roast duck hanging in the window so thats all thats on your mind as soon as you go in. The food always comes out super quick and I have never been disappointed with the quality especially not for under $ 10.
Nothing here is super awesome blow your socks off quality but it is good, fast, convenient (if your already in Northbridge), and pretty cheep for the large serving sizes. When my duck cravings hit mid class, I’ll probably find myself back here again!

Golden King BBQ is a relative newcomer in the Chinese BBQ business, having opened less than two years ago. Like with other BBQ places, Golden King features a window with roast meat hanging — mainly duck, but also chicken and roast pork.
The interior of Golden King seems to have lifted from 1980s magazine. The prices are cheap — for less than $ 10, you can buy roast duck with rice and vegetables. Dining at Golden King was somewhat disappointing, though. While service was very quick, the duck was tough and the skin was not crispy. There was also too much bone.
Their takeaway duck is better. The skin is crispy and with a good usage of spice, although the duck is slightly too salty. For $ 29, you can take away a whole duck. The only disappointment is that they don’t offer boneless duck.
Golden King is a good alternative if you are looking to purchase takeaway duck. For dining in, there are better BBQ places in Northbridge.
