The meal we had here was extremely good. Generous servings, rapid service and very good value for money. Great décor, and the design of the building allowed us to have a conversation without having to whisper or shout. Very pleasant all round and I’d recommend it and go again!

Recently visited this Thai place after a show at the Fringe Festival on a Sunday evening. Quite big and open dining area that was pretty empty when we were there, but not exactly primetime! I wouldn’t say the décor particularly says romantic or intimate, but it was perfectly fine and definitely a sit-down vs fast-food kind of ambiance. The service was friendly and reasonably quick. Most of the food was very well received and there were a variety of vegetarian options — I particularly enjoyed my Massaman curry!(FYI, their red curry is apparently their hottest.) My partner ordered the Nam Prik expecting it to be really hot and was a bit disappointed. It was a little bit on the pricey side given the ambiance and location on the outskirts of Northbridge. Overall, a completely pleasant experience, and I wouldn’t mind if I ended up there again, but not something I’d make a special effort to get to.

Went to meet a friend here. The first thing that came to mind was how large & emplty the restaurant was. For starters, I ordered Tua & Tao Hu Tord(crispy black bean dumplings & fried tofu). This was very crispy to the point of a little hard to eat. The tofu got a little lost in it. For mains, I ordered Pra Ram Long Song(asparagus & tofu with satay sauce). To be honest this was quite bland & didn’t really hit the spot. As I love Thai food, I would not say this was the best Thai in Perth.

I was just here a night ago. Thought the out lay for the place was nice. However we were booked in for 7pm it was 9:30pm before we got our mains. I know it was a fairly large group but I am certain that is does not take that long to cook eight of so dishes. After waiting so long for the food and parking pretty much non existent along the street. I will not be coming back any time soon!

The multi award winning Dusit Thai has been an institution, offering authentic and traditional Thai food in Perth since 1988. Take a look around Dusit Thai and you will find yourself in Thailand with the ambience and opulence of Thai décor and interior. The restaurant is also very spacious and there are plenty of tables available to accommodate diners walking in. I was there on a Saturday and didn’t have to make a booking(I do recommend a booking if it’s a large group). We had a Small Seafood Tom Yum Soup($ 12.50) to start off with. Tom Yum is a hot and sour soup infused with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, mint and galangal with or without chili. The Tom Yum soup was really good! It definitely had a chili kick with a nice aroma and balance of fresh flavours. There was also a generous amount of fresh seafood swimming around in the Tom Yum Soup too. Not long after, our mains arrived. We had the Lamb Rack and a Red Duck Curry. The Grilled Lamb Racks($ 36) were marinated in Thai herbs and served with Nam Jin Jaew(Thai Dried Chili Dipping Sauce) and pickled vegetables. The Lamb Racks was cooked to perfection and the meat was soft and tender. It was marinated very well and was very flavoursome! Together with the dipping sauce, it added a punch of flavours to the lamb rack. As it was a cold night, a red duck curry($ 23.50) was a perfect dish(Red Duck Curry is one of my favourite Thai dishes). With a generous amount of duck and some vegetables and lychee, the red duck curry was sweet and delicate in flavour. The curry was also very tasty and complements the white rice really well. It was a really tasty dish. The red duck curry is perfect for those who have a low tolerance of spice :) Many years has passed and Dusit Thai still remains as one of Perth’s well loved Thai restaurant, which is why my family and I always go back to Dusit Thai for their food. There is also large variety of choices to choose from on Dusit Thai’s menu so you can always try something different every visit. Service, as usual was efficient and friendly. For some authentic, delicious and mouthwatering Thai food, why not give Dusit Thai a try.

I’m always on the lookout for good Thai and a friend found out about this by word of mouth. Dusit Thai presents itself as a fancy Thai place. You know, white tablecloths and the waitstaff spreads the cloth napkin on you lap after seating kinda place, but unfortunately, that was pretty much the highlight. Now I have an expectation that Thai food has a level of spice and was pleased to see that right on the menu they said that everything was served as medium-hot and they can go hotter. Although pleased, I’m always dubious of hotness claims so I ordered everything extra hot. We got the Tom Yum soup and the papaya salad to start and things went quickly down hill. The Tom Yum soup was clear and more like chicken broth. Not a hint of spiciness. The papaya salad was off. Not sure if was the freshness or the combination but something… For the mains we got the a beef dish and a stuffed squid dish. Both were bland and not in the least bit spicy. I ordered a side of chopped hot chillies and added them in hopes of adding some flavor, but the damage was done already… alas no joy. Overall, this place was a big disappointment, but it was a first having bland Thai food! I didn’t know that was even possible. This place seems to have some history and its been around for a while so the people who recommneded it had some memories of a time before it jumped the shark and entered mediocrity. If you want Thai, go to S&T. Stay sexy my friends!

About ten years ago, these guys were the bees knees when it came to Thai food in Perth. I remember having to make sure you booked in plenty of time to get a table and there curries were so flavoursome. Every time I come here I order either the green curry or the red, yeah really exciting hey? but I have always said if they get the basics right, just go with it as it is so divine. The last time I came here I had the green curry and it just didn’t cut it, it didn’t have the same flavours as last time and I was slightly disappointed. Saying that, we did go in a big group and that is never a good way to judge the soul of a restaurant. I am a massive fan of Dusit Thai, the service is good, the venue it good and the prices are OK, I will look forward to trying it out again soon, I have faith that it wont disappoint again.
