Horrible quality products. Expecially the chocolates. I really hope people will wake up and choose to eat in better places.

I’ve never had a bad churro experience here(or any other branch for that matter) as its all made fresh-to-order. I personally can’t eat more than half a churro to myself. We chose the spanish caramel and thick classic hot chocolate dip-cups to dunk our churros in. Both were nice and went well together if you like a bit of an extra coating. If you sign up for San Churro’s mailing list you’ll be gifted a free churros for two(valued at $ 14.95) on your birthday! Intrigued by the new desserts range we decided to give one of them a go — the melting chocolate bomba. I should have really taken a video to capture the bomba melting away as the hot raspberry coulis was poured over the dark chocolate bomba, revealing the frozen vanilla and raspberry semifreddo hidden within. Poor Htet burnt his delicate man hands as he was pouring the coulis. The things friends go through so you can get the perfect photo :) Its awesome to see generic dessert franchises like San Churros step up their game adding new and inventive desserts to their menu. The bomba was nice but nothing to rave on about. I think I still prefer the churros over the bomba. Verdict: 6.5÷10 — not my go to place for desserts but its a good late night alternative. Everything here is always so creamy, heavy, and rich. I’m a light dessert kind of girl!

This place is expensive. 25 bucks for two pieces of cake that were not fresh. Coffee is alright, but you can find cheaper and better. Always absolutely packed in the front restaurant and they will try and sit you there if they can when the back restaurant is near empty which I understand from a business perspective but it gets real loud.

Really nice staff and a huge range of sugary treats! It can get very busy here though!

Always busy, no matter what time of night it is. Despite this, you are always served promptly and the food and drinks come out super fast. Peanut butter hot chocolate is to die for — and of course the churros are amazing, I’d definitely get the white chocolate with them!

This place is generally packed and service can be hit and miss. been here few times . Probably the best place in Perth for a Sugar fix. Churros could have been better may be was bit fatty and oily but caramel and milk chocolate dipping sauce were divine and I really liked Salted caramel Sundae as well.

Fantastic service. We came here after stopping at 2 other restaurants for coffee and desserts who were rude and debated whether they could spare a table for us because we didnt want to order mains. It was a refreshing change to be greeted by friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks, always good as you’d expect from a San Churros :)

This is a really convenient place to pick up a coffee to go and that’s why I come here. It’s quick, nicely located next to Northbridge Piazza and seems to be open pretty much all the time. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so this place is not my thing. Most of the stuff here is far too rich for my tummy for me to even think about braving the noise and actually sit down. All the hard surfaces make it super noisy in Chocolateria San Churro and that’s not how I like to drink my coffee. I prefer to take mine to the piazza and see what’s going on.

A faint smell of sewerage outside in the alfresco area did not enhance my san churro experience. Hopefully this was a one-off dodgy plumbing situation… Had a tea and a deep fried truffle here — the tea was excellent(although I give no points for adding water to leaves), the truffle was weird. The deep fried jaffa truffle was dropped into a cup of cold custard. Yep. Really strange. Service was fast despite a full restaurant, so can’t fault them there.

18 churros and 6 dip sauces for 20 troopers just come from a funeral. Every one low in sugar after mourning. Good sugar boost for $ 39.95. Really love the back room which allows 20 people to celebrate passing of a good person with chocolate. Groovy samba music for dancing.

Corporate greed never tasted so good! Busy spot over the weekends but you’ll see people rolling out of here at all times of day.

After trying many times to go to the Hillarys place and lining up for ages or just lookin at the line and walking away I tried Northbridge last night. It still seemed busy but more organized. The last at the front was helpful. We actually had time to look at the cake options as there wasn’t 20 people waiting behind us! I went for the American cheesecake with cream and chocolate in the side. Oh. My. God. So damn good. I think thy charged us extra for the sauces even though he offered them to me — if they cost extra they should mention it. I would definitely make the extra trip to come back here again.

I have discovered a new taste sensation that I cannot WAIT to return to San Churros for. Dunk a macaron in drippalicious molten chocolate; it is all the colours of sickly sweet wrong yet it left me feeling like I could conquer the world. The Boy looked on in bemusement while I dripped chocolate everywhere. And I mean everywhere. It was on my elbows, my forehead and even my camera. Do it!

I love San Churros. I love all things chocolate, and this chain enables my addiction in a big way! The Northbridge store is always busy. We went at about 11:00 on a Saturday night and it was packed! There were about 2 or 3 tables, and there was a member of staff greeting customers as they entered to direct them to free seats, which was a nice touch. We were seated and another member of staff came around to take our order, which is different to most other San Churro stores where you pay at the counter before being seated. I think this worked really well considering how busy it was. I found that all staff were quite pleasant and accommodating. I got the San Churro Sundae, which never disappoints. The couverture chocolate hardens due to the cold of the ice cream and I love the crunch it gives. And don’t even get me started on the brownie and ice cream. It’s such a simple concept but beautifully executed.

I am on the fence with this one. I like that the menu is solid with a lot of options. If you crave chocolate like I do — especially the melted ooey gooey kind — this is a great place to get the fix. However — I don’t think it is that great either — but I may be snobbish in the way franchises like these seem so trite as they are everywhere and I know what to expect. I came here last night — it seems that they may have seen these reviews because I was welcomed by a tiny cute lady at the door, bursting with energy and friendliness. She was attentive to everyone despite being busy and appeared to be the only person at the tables. I was really impressed and wanted to put her in my pocket and keep her — that is how cute and friendly she was. I ordered the San Churro Sundae — which surprisingly didn’t have a San Churro in there?! — but I was having cravings for brownies yesterday so I ate that up quicksmart. This is a good place to share meals– what is more lovely than 2 spoons and a sundae or milkshake? The Sundae was $ 10.95 — it wasn’t the best thing ever but it did the job.

You know what this place is all about. You know why people go here. They do just ONE thing… and they do it well. I always find it difficult trying to decide exactly what to get here because it all looks and sounds so good. It’s like they’ve got a tap from the chocolate river in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Portions might APPEAR smaller than what you’d really prefer but trust me, there’s enough there. I ordered the cold hot chocolate(not to be confused with the hot cold chocolate) and it was just…‘wow’. It has ice cream in it!!! I have to admit, by about ¾ of the way through it, I was starting to reach that point where you hear that voice in your head saying«Too much of a good thing CAN be a bad thing» — and I guess it can be if you’re getting your chocolate fix from this place on a regular basis. If you’re an infrequent visitor though — why not indulge a little bit every so often. It’s all about moderation! Anyway, everyone needs to give this place a try and my recommendation is that it’s probably best to go with a group of friends — that way you can all order different things and then get to sample it all without feeling like a glutton for ordering so many things on your own :)

Such rude staff! As long as you only minimally have to interact with the staff this place is fine. As soon as you have an issue with your order or a request it just turns to hell. The staff in this place are simply rude. Definitely the worst of the San Churro’s in Perth. Avoid if possible!

Good treats… Sometimes. Rude staff all the time. Five years ago an eating establishment like this would be the bee’s knees in Perth but with places such as the Margaret River Chocolate Company and Koko Black, San Churros seems quite tired. Their signature dish — the Churro is rather oily and comes in a very small serving. It is a common misconception that San Churro is home to Perth’s best churro but I’d like to challenge this notion by reminding Perth that the team at Braza Churro have been serving hot, fresh and gooey Spanish doughnuts to thousands of happy festival goers for years. That being said, I’m a sucker for their Hot n’ Cold drink which features a thick hot drinking chocolate with a scoop of ice cream dropped inside. The combination of the two temperatures and contrasting flavours is to die for. But that’s all I seem to order from this chain these days. One thing that has been bugging me for years is the lack of customer service that I’ve received from this store as well as their other stores throughout Australia. Staff have often been disinterested, struggling with the common niceties that you’d expect from a chocolatier. On my last visit to San Churro, I exited after having dining and momentarily returned after remembering that I needed to use their toilet facilities. After doing my business, I walked past a staff member who seemingly didn’t realise that I was a customer only minutes ago had muttered under his breath«Enjoy using our public toilets? Yeah, fu___g walk away you b____ard». Unfortunately for him, I was able to hear this and promptly yelled at him, making note to ensure that the entire restaurant could hear me yell at him for his extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour. You’d think working at a chocolate company would make you a cheerful person but it seems that at San Churro, the complete opposite occurs. Next time I think I’ll go to McDonald’s for a chocolate shake.

What can I say? Unfortunately, Chocolateria San Churro is another overrated Australian fad. However, I get it. Australia, particularly Perth, isn’t used to this type of place since good food in WA is very uncommon. Any specialty food restaurant in this city is treated like the second coming of Christ. The churros, the chocolate and especially the milkshakes pale in comparison to what I’m used to. And yes, I’m used to the chocolate cafes in America and the massive churros you can get for a dollar at Disneyland. The churros at San Churro are tiny, the chocolate tastes mediocre/cheap and the milkshakes are luke warm. Luke warm milkshakes? Unforgivable. I’ve been here twice and I vow never to go back. On the upside, that means more churros for everyone else.
