Cool little market that runs the first Sunday of each month. There are approx 70 stalls of handcrafted and vintage clothing, jewelry, candles, cakes and homewares. Make sure you enjoy a taste test at the brownie stall but it will be difficult to leave without buying one! All the merchandise seems to be fairly priced and great quality. I will definately return meander through this market and next time I may even purchase a drink from the bar;) it was a little early in the day this time. The only thing that could be improved is if a decent coffee shop could open up in the area. Or maybe a barrista could set up out the front.

Happening once a month inside the Lithuanian Club in the middle of Errol St, the North Melbourne Market is a large and bustling craft and vintage market that will(happily) swallow your morning or afternoon up. I’ve only ever chanced upon it as I walk up Errol St and I don’t think there’s a regular weekend it happens(though it’s always on Sundays), so it’s best to check the website for upcoming market dates. Run by Thread Den team, it costs $ 2 entry to head inside and wander the 70-plus stores that set up. There’s heaps to look at(and buy) — I ended up with a decent denim jacket and then, surprisingly, with a mojito in my hand. Yes, there’s a bar that serves cocktails inside the market. Not bad, eh? The atmosphere was good for that too — lively, with music playing and a real local fair vibe. Definitely one of the best markets on the north side.
