This shop is my favourite on a strip full of amazing antique shops. It’s a huge collection of chambers and hallways full of ancient furniture and trinkets. I was in here today, checking out some amazing couches, enormous art deco wardrobes and aesthetically pleasing bookshelves. If you venture to the very back of the store, you’ll find a secret treasure trove of teacups. The prices are actually fairly reasonable, though it’s hardly cheap. We’re talking about $ 700 for a super-cool chair or $ 3000-ish for an amazing wardrobe. When you consider the value you get from these items and how pretty they are, it’s a fairly justifiable expense. The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy a good chat. If I’m completely honest with you, I keep coming back here because a year and a half ago they had an amazing jukebox that I didn’t have room for at the time. Somebody else picked it up while I was there and I’ve beat myself up about it ever since. One day, I hope to walk into the side room and find another such item. I don’t mind the disappointment though; it’s the kind of store that’s a blast to window shop in. If you’re looking at stopping by, make sure you allow enough time to check out the other antique shops in this strip.

Trish’s place doesn’t look like very much from the outside save the bright pink reupholstered Louis the XV style chairs that immediately caught my eye. I had been looking for one of these in a similar style but more traditional one for a while and thought I’d better have a look at what other crazy things they might have. I was actually happily surprised that the rest of the store was not as flamboyant and tacky looking as the pink chair and everything was rather authentic and simply beautiful. If you come into Trish’s Place with the certitude that you want to leave with something I suggest you take your time there are 6 different rooms all containing mounds of beautiful furniture, my favourites a long wooden country style table in verdigris, another country kitchen shelf/cabinet holding the most beautiful floral tea sets, golden baroque mirrors, traditional Louis the XV chairs, gorgeous crystal chandeliers and so much more. This is truly a treasure for an antique collector and for people like myself who love a little bit of history, beauty and a great quality piece of furniture. I would happily furnish my house with at least half this shop but unfortunately due to lack of space and funds that won’t be happening but if and when it does happen I will be sure to come back here.

Trish’s Place is a fantastic little treasure cove of antiques. Downstairs you’ll find Aladdin’s cave filled to the brim with various pieces of furniture large and small. Upstairs is Professor Trelawney’s classroom, ever changing rooms that feel like a cross between a tea room and Divination teacher’s room. The antiques here have been carefully selected for you to buy, there aren’t shabby, cheap, falling apart pieces here, only high quality vintage! Wandering around the place you can feel the history in all of the various items, it’s fun to pick something up, like an old telephone or lamp and create a story of the people who have owned it in the past and how it’s ended up here. The people who work here are very friendly and always happy to have a chat. This is a great place to come and enjoy and pick up something unique and interesting.

Trish’s Place is wonderful. Not only is it full of antiques, but the shop seems like an antique itself. With distressed floorboards, peeling paint and creaking stairs, it’s like walking through the slightly dilapidated house of an eccentric old aunt. While the downstairs is crammed with furniture and bric-à-brac, the upstairs rooms are furnished almost as if they are actual rooms — I half expect the lady of the house to shuffle in and offer me a cup of tea. There is some really beautiful and unique antique furniture for sale, as well as countless framed prints and paintings, and a room full of china teasets, vases and old-fashioned kitchen scales(my fave). I could happily spend hours wandering around in here, and I’d always find something new and interesting on each wander.
