Clarke’s is definitely a fancy spot for dinner and it is worth the hype. We had the degustation dinner which was $ 100 for 6 courses and you have the option of adding in two additional courses for $ 20 each. Wine pairing is also available for $ 50. They offer degustation menu only on Saturday night, whereas during the week you also have the option of a la carte. Dinner was lovely and all courses are beautifully presented. Service is impeccable and attentive without being OTT. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

One of Perth’s stand out special occasion restaurants without a doubt. The degustation menu is really a must. Every course was very well executed, interesting, flavoursome and beautifully presented. They accommodated a seafood allergy with no problems. The fact you can bring your own wine is stellar if you have a bottle or two you’ve been saving for just the right occasion. Service was great. Attentive, warm and genuinely friendly without being intrusive.

Amazing to have a place like this, practically in our own backyard. Food was delicious. We took a very special bottle of wine and the corkage was quite reasonable. It’s going to be our anniversary special from now on.

Best dining experience by far. So much attention to detail to every element on the plate. Perfectly paired wines from very knowledgable staff. Fine dining at its best.

What an experience! For Valentines dinner we treated ourselves to a degustation here last night and both left with rather large smiles on our faces even after settling the bill. To start the dining experience the Amuse-bouche was brought out. This consisted of two separate dishes being Coffin Bay Oysters with Champagne and vinaigrette and pork shoulder croquettes. The oysters were very refreshing whilst the croquettes were well executed and the combination worked well on the palate. We each had a glass of bubbly to start off the night and proceeded with a very respectable crisp dry white. There is a paired wines option but as I was driving I decided opting against it would be a wise decision. For the next course we were treated to Kingfish Tataki, Blue swimmer crab, watermelon and nam jim dressing. All the different colours, textures and flavours were constructed and presented masterfully on the plate and once again left a great impression. Next up was the Chicken Roulade, fig and crisp potato. The combination of flavours was a success in this dish also and had our taste buds dancing in delight. The eagerly anticipated Pan roasted duck breast, confit leg and foie gras espuma was brought out next and at this point we were beginning to worry that we might not be able to finish the menu. The duck was cooked perfectly and was our stand out dish for the night. The mains was Lamb, feta, preserved lemon and tomato and was more of a rustic combination of flavours, almost something you would have on a cold winter night, yet the lamb was well cooked and the flavour combination, though more subtle was still executed very nicely. Having found our second wind, we persevered onto the first round of dessert, a pre dessert as the waiter put it with Mango sorbet, mango curd and a mini mandarin macaron. This late in the meal and still no fault could be found. The dessert was later brought out a combination of different types of raspberry and white chocolate. We were skeptical before trying this dish as we are dark chocolate fans but once again the flavour and texture combination won over our taste buds. The wait staff were professional, always explained each course fully as it was served, yet were never in the way. It was definitely a romantic setting and helped make for a very pleasant dining experience. Even seeing the bill didn’t deter the positive mood we were left with after such a pleasant dining experience. Definitely a dego worth trying or going back to try in future again!

Truly the best meal I have had in Perth. We had the degustation. It had perfect proportions, delicate flavours, playful elements and all perfectly timed with fantastic service(non intrusive but always there) Highly recommend this restaurant.

After discussing the best degustation options in Perth, we were told to give Clarkes a shot. The amuse Bouche was a little lack lustre, with a lack of texture and flavour profile, but it got better from there on. The dishes were executed well with innovative construction. In summary the food was great and each dish bought something new to the table. The service and décor was another story entirely. Menus were plonked infringing of us with no explanation of what was in store, and no detailed explanation of the dishes on arrival. From there was a few negatives which was really disappointing. The service overall was acceptable but certainly not attentitive and professional for this price point. The restroom looked like it had been put together by a staff member. After comparing Clarkes to Amuse and Jackson’s, we came to the conclusion that the latter were far better options for the same money. The comparison is service and décor is far better in amuse and Jackson’s, and really doesn’t give Clarkes an option unless you live nearby. The charge of $ 20 per person corkage they try to charge is aplorable, and really adds to the little negatives we had tonight. If they can get the venue and service to a higher standard to match the food, it will warrant a second chance. Food 8.5÷10 service 7⁄10 décor 6.5÷10

Food, presentation, service, ambiance all excellent. I was able to book that afternoon for a table and parking was easy. They handled dietary specifications with no problem. Wine recommendation was good(I’m very into wine, but I don’t know every wine on every list, so when I ask for a pairing recommendation out of a couple I’ve narrowed it down to, I’m hoping to get an opinion from someone who knows both the wine and the food who can help me out, and not just point me to the most expensive bottle. The staff did just that, said that the more expensive wine was an excellent one, but the less expensive one would go better with what we had ordered, and it did go very well with both our mains and the following blue cheese course.) Best place I’ve been in Perth.

Here are a few snippets of my experience that I like. The amuse bouche is a Spanner Crab Croquette. The waiter set it down, explained the dish and then poured fish broth over the croquette. Because of this, the croquette retained its crunchy coating. The spanner crab went very well with the very fluffy mashed potato. It was a good sign. If the amuse bouche is a synopsis of the meal, the meal is likely to be a fancy mixture of delicate and somewhat rich textures. The broth had japanese seaweed which led me to expect a bit of fusion in their dishes. Slow cooked hen’s egg, slow pulled ham hock cassoulet, brioche(Supplementary $ 15) The egg was cooked at 60 degrees for 2 hours leaving the yolk soft but not flowing. The yolk enveloped the very salty flavours from the smoky ham hock. There was an interesting mix of broad beans, peas, peanuts and mung beans. The butter brioche served on the side goes veryyyy well with this dish albeit lovely on its own!

It was a very special occasion, so my partner in crime treated me to an evening at Clarke’s of North Beach. I had been here once before and remembered it fondly. I was so very excited and this place once again did not disappoint. The staff are impeccable. The highest professional wait staff I have seen in Perth. They know exactly when to attend without intruding on your evening. The food was absolutely divine. My partner had the pork belly with crackle and apple as an entrée. It melted in your mouth, the flavours working perfectly. I tasted it and wanted it as my main meal. I ordered the salmon entrée, but was a bit apprehensive as it had watermelon and jelly and sorbet. The flavours and textures were amazing and surprising harmonius. The rest of the meal was just amazing. The lamb was mouth watering and melted in your mouth. The steak hearty and full of flavour, cooked to perfection. Every meal is a work of art. It almost seems a crime to ruin it by eating. This place is not even close to cheap, but worth every single cent. If I could afford to eat here more often I would. Highly recommended. The best meal I have had in Perth.
