LDF Tattoo

I got a tattoo done last week by Gus at LDF. It was a really good experience from start to finish. It was easy to set up an appointment and Gus worked with my ideas to create a beautiful custom piece that is everything I could want. His artistic vision turned my rough sketch into an absolutely stunning finished piece. The shading and linework are perfect. If I didn’t live on another continent, I’d be back as soon as possible for more work!

OUTSTANDING !!! Yes, this place is worth the caps in every aspect. Lets get straight to it then — here are the reasons why:
1. Location, location location. It’s at the quieter end of King St in Newtown so for me, accessibility and parking is a priority — TICK.
2. Feel of the place walking in — front of desk staff are super friendly and beyond helpful — TICK.
3. Tattooers are highly skilled and its clearly obvious with some of the work they have showcased around the place.
4. SUPER clean … and by clean I mean, hospital grade clean — thats what you want to see!
5. My guy (Jimmy) was hands down, an absolute pleasure to deal with (and what a smile) — whats even better? Turns out we had mutual friends — love it when connections like this occur.
I will be recommending this studio to all I know who not only want a tattoo, but want a pleasant experience getting it done — I honestly cannot find a single negative thing to say about this place.

I have quite a collection of ‘Tough stickers’ these days, from various Tattoo artists, but the crew at LDF are my absolute number one recommendation.
I am often asked where I get my ink done, and without hesitation, LDF. I actually ran out of a huge stack of business cards I was given at one point, because I was asked so often.
Les Rice, the owner/​founder of LDF is an award winning artist, who recently won the Moran Prize for portrait painting.
And, as I understand it, comes from a Family of tattooing men. His Father and Brother both outstanding.
He is quick, light handed and very very talented. He did an absolutely spot on portrait of my dearly departed Staffy dog, and it meant a lot to me.
Angus Wood, is an amazing artist who has transformed his skills into putting ink under skin. He has a brilliant sense of humor, and you’ll have an interesting time trying to keep still while you’re being inked, trying not to laugh.
There is a whole crew of awesome people working there, and I have work by Les, Angus and Charlie, who does amazing old school style. Im so proud of all of my tattoos from LDF.
With such a broad variety of talent, you’d do well to give them a call if you ever get the itch for some new ink.
They also have a relatively new store in Marrickville.

This is without a doubt the friendliest and most attitude-​free tattoo place I have ever stepped foot in. I have approached these guys with unusual requests and have never once felt like they were looking down their noses at me or judging me for wanting something weird (as I have in other places).
This is pretty much the only place I will go to in Sydney now… Klaus has done 6 or 7 of my pieces, and he is very good at what he does, very open to discussing what works/​what doesn’t without being a douche about it, and super friendly. All their staff rank highly in professionalism, skill and friendliness… I have always felt really welcome there from the first time I set foot in the door which I think is important when a lot of other places can be intimidating. Their place is always clean too, which is nice to see. Oh, and they are really well-​priced for how good their work is too!
