Darley Street Bistro

So I just had the American Double Cheeseburger with mustard, ketchup and pickles.
(currently available for $ 10, 12pm — 4pm, Monday — Friday.)
It was good, I would definitely get it again, However I opted for only one patty which i felt was a good choice, also needed a little more mustard and ketchup.
I’ve been here a few times now and had;
Chicken burrito ($ 18)
Steak and mash with veggies ($ 18)
Neither of which were that good, maybe I just got them on a bad day because I’ve had friends froth over the food at this place. Also at that price point I expected better
However the first time I went here I got the char grilled beef fillet with a bacon and thyme hash brown served with wild mushroom and lentil ragout, smoked tomato and mustard butter ($ 30) which was super deluxe and was well enjoyed
I will be returning for more lunch specials no doubt.

Definitely a hidden gem in Newtown. Amazing food. The dishes came out so beautifully presented. Staff were lovely. Dishes were well priced. We’ll definitely be coming back here!

A bit fancy for bistro but real good food, my salmon skin was crispy and pink in the middle, perfect.
You have to collect your order and walk up the stairs abit dangerous, mind that kitchen and bar are separated, potatoes was soo oil but the walk pays for it I guess

This place offers a lot of meal choices, but seems to be lacking if you want something simple like a chicken schnitzel and chips. Quite fancy for a pub bistro, actually.
The only things that irks me about Darley, is the fact that the majority of seating is upstairs but you have to collect your food from downstairs. There is no table service, and navigating the stairs with hands laden with food could potentially end in disaster.
Also, don’t be surprised if there’s nowhere to sit, because this place is quite popular.
