Bedrock Hair

Am travelling and needed a hair cut. Bedrock fantastic salon and had the lovely Irish stylist whose name I can’t remember. Brilliant stylist and v happy with the cut and the bedrock experience. Just wish I could take her home :)

Into my third week of a month-​long business trip to Sydney, I really needed to get a good hair cut, especially given that I had two important presentations to do. I always dread getting a hair cut by anyone other than my regular stylist, but I took a chance on Bedrock. I called up and got an appointment on the same day. The person doing my hair, Sara, actually did a very thorough interview with me, asking me about what my hair normally looks like (as opposed to its overgrown state) and what I was looking for. She took her time in cutting my hair and she is a good conversationalist. Well, my hair ended up looking great for my presentations. I could not have asked for anything more. The cost was $ 88 — well worth every penny.

I’m very disappointed with my hairdresser David owner of bedrock, I have an auto immune disease and some days can’t walk so it’s hard for me to book an appointment where my health suffers from day to the next. David won’t fit me in as a walk in and all I want are 2 foils. I have tried 3 times now and live over an hour away and he has sent me walking. He’s a good hairdresser but a thoughtless one! So you choose.

I adore this salon and the owners, Brian and David, are two of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. They always make me feel special and I look forward to my visits for a chance to catch up on the latest trashy magazines (they also stock some highbrow ones if that’s more to your liking) and buy the fabulous Swedish shampoos they carry (Ref line, simply amazing). I almost didn’t write this review because it’s so hard to get an appointment with my stylist, but just had to share.
If you are looking for a great stylist in Newtown at a fair price, look no further. This is a real gem.

I’ve been going here for years after a friend recommended the salon. All the stylists are great and it’s moderately priced, especially for the area. I was heart broken when my hairdresser left a few years ago but then finally came back. The overall service is great, they start with a shampoo and head massage and always offer a tea, coffee or wine to drink. I’ve heard people complain before that they’ve missed their appointment if they didn’t confirm and also that you might have to provide credit card details to secure an initial appointment. This is just because they are so busy and popular and I’ve never had to provide credit card details to book an appointment. They always ring 1 – 2 days before to confirm.
