I’ve been to Elbio before on a few occasions and service has been good, fast and the food good as well, this visit was out of the ordinary and not in a good way. Service at the front counter was quite slow, some indecisive customers didn’t help the new staff they surely had on today, once we placed our orders we headed back to our table to chat away and catch up. The first plate to head to our table was incorrect, we let them know and off they went, the next two dishes turned up, one was wrong again and the other was right, wrong meal went back to be changed as requested. After a few more minute a staff member approached our table to advise that the order was put through incorrectly on their side of things and that only the standard meal was paid for not the ‘The Lot’ upgrade option — we were told that if we wanted what we ordered an additional cost for each of the burgers needed to be paid. I can’t say I will be headed back here any time too soon, when an error is made that is not at the customers fault, we both remember clearly saying what we wanted, then not getting it and having to pay for their mistake we were not happy.

Perfect suburban spot for brunch, lunch or a sweet treat or two! The brunch menu is a standout out for me with all your favourite dishes. I can never refuse the vegetarian delight; ciabatta bread with lime infused rocket, fetta & smashed avocado. Would highly recommend adding poached eggs for a few extra dollars. I’ve never picked an item from the lunch menu but there seems to be ample variety consisting of foccacias, schitnzels and Mexican pastries. Now to the best part — dessert! Elbio has an extensive range of sweet treats, cakes & biscuits. Everything looks fresh & presented beautifully. I tried the chaja today and was not disappointed! There are rumors of elbio opening up a new café. if they can keep up this quality i will definitely be checking it out!

Made a detour home this afternoon to visit the famous Elbio but have been left with mixed feelings. Saying the ricotta Cannoli was AMAZING is an under-statement but my waffles left a lot to be desired for. The service was great though and I loved being able to see through to the kitchen. Looking forward to introducing the pastries to my mum when she visits.

I’ve been going to Elbio’s for quite a few years so well before the renovations which now makes access a lot easier for the elderly and disabled. The new design was opened last year and while renovations were underway they were still taking cake orders whilst the coffee and stay option was not available. Open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am to 4pm it’s the perfect place to try Elbio’s Latino dishes such as Empanadas and Chivitos. There is a huge range of cakes and it is common for me to leave with a tray to take home. The ambience is still like a cafeteria and you can see the cakes being made through a large window. I do love this place and the only issue is when they’re are busy it takes ages to place an order for a simple cup of coffee.

This venue provides the perfect casual location to eat some local Campbelltown food. There are so many cake options that it is hard to decide on one. I can never visit without buying a Lobster Tail(pastry filled with custard) to eat or take home to eat later. The staff are friendly and the table service is quick. The venue also offers savory lunch options, but I haven’t had the chance to try.

I have had Elbio cakes before and I’ve heard so many people rave about this little store. It took an American tourist asking me to take her here again that forced me to visit this shop and I’m so glad I eventually did. Arriving early it was almost empty and I was wondering where all these die hard customers were. I decided to be good and have an actual breakfast rather than a selection of cakes. There is a standard breakfast menu with a variety of eggs, bacon, and pastries. I had the bacon and egg sandwich and it was so large I didn’t even need to have lunch. The display of cakes are some of the best I’ve ever seen. From macarons to lobster tails anything you pic is bound to be delicious, although I’d struggle to pick just one favourite. This little, somewhat hidden, café is the perfect place for coffee and cake with friends. You’ll have to keep going back if only to make your way through the vast selection of cakes.

Fantastic food and service. The cakes are sensational. Best café in Athelstone by far.

You have probably enjoyed an Elbio cake or two in your life, as many of Adelaide’s cafes stock his delicious cakes. A visit to Elbio will find you in the backstreets of Newton, a place you wouldn’t expect to find such a delicious little café, adored by locals. Picking my favourite cake is difficult because I’m yet to try one I don’t like — however if I have to pick one it would be the Chaja which is like a pavalova in a ball and I’m told a traditional Uruguayan dessert! Soooooooo yum! You can buy his cakes from the café frozen to enjoy at a later date, and he even sells celebration cakes and savoury treats for any upcoming event!

At last, somewhere terrific for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Great service, really friendly. Our dog is welcome on the verandah and has his own special bowl of water. The salsa with eggs is sensational. The coffee is good and hot and quick. And the cakes and pastries — step away from the cabinet. Only one complaint. Wish they were open on Sunday too. Sigh.

Heaven in a cake! I only discovered Elbio late last year and can’t believe I didn’t know about it sooner. Their cakes are amazing, particularly the Chantilly cream Massini. I bought a whole box and made all my family try it! There are lots of other delicious looking cakes I want to work my way through trying also.

Elbio has been baking speciality treats and desserts since 1976 — originally known as «The King of Croissants’ he diversified into making gorgeous pastries and sweet little delicacies, and has truly perfected his art. Situated on the edge of an industrial estate, Elbio features a small store at the front of the factory selling direct to the public, and has recently opened a café section. Arrange ahead and you can take a tour of the factory, seeing the operation from start to finish while the staff prepare thousands of gourmet treats before your eyes — Elbio’s now sells direct to restaurants and café’s all over Australia, a testament to the quality of the goods prepared in this South Australian iconic business. Baked goods vary from caramel tarts, lemon meringue pies, lemon tartlets, coconut macaroons, and include dedicated offerings only available from Elbio’s, such as Chaja’s(a ball of caramel, sponge and peaches, rolled in chunks of meringue) and Massini Chantilly(a luscious Chantilly cream served between layers of tender sponge cake, topped with a flame caramelized coating). Nearly all the offerings come in both a small bite size serving, ideal for cocktail parties, or and individual serve perfect for dinner parties or dessert. Many favourites can also be prepared in a party size, or as a cake to serve as many as you need — often a solution for birthdays and other celebrations. Elbio’s desserts are a thrill to both the eyes, and the tastebuds — come in and have a fresh made coffee and sample some of the treasures here, or pick up a variety of goods to take home. Very much recommended.
