I witnessed an older child in a mobility scooter and wrapped head to toe in bandages as if he’s somehow survived a horrific house fire of epic proportion, being stopped by security and asked to show the contents of his shopping bags that lay within the front basket of the scooter. The bags themselves were under A4 size(the smallest regulated size for bags that can be checked). The child, who looked happy just to be alive, complied — too shocked to refuse a request from a huge towering security guard. The father who accompanied the child was not happy to say the least and briefly spoke to the guard once the child was out of earshot.

Staff are quite knowledge in their products with a couple of staff even providing expert advice across the range of products they sell here. Recently replaced the car audio section with an improved set up of home audio and hifi systems with the inclusion of instruments to their catalogue of items. Go here if you want to know about the product you’re about to buy, there’s always some useful feedback they will provide. It’s worth spending your money here just for the post sales support of the staff who were even willing to fight a warranty issue on my behalf instead of just saying tough luck on your bike. The staff also have some creative and innovative ways to use your existing tech in new or enhanced applications. Great place for great service.

Wishing to stay fit this winter was my excuse for dropping in at JB Hifi. Stepping into the store, you could be easily fooled into believing it’s still summer. The Yellow branding is everywhere! Debases the brand I think. However, the staff are friendly and know where their products are. I find it hard having to go through the racks and racks of dvd’s, blu-ray’s, game cd’s for Nintendo, sony, xbox and prefer asking their friendly team to guide me to the right section. In the past, I have noticed some stores changing their aisles which meant the next time I went back, it was unlikely to be in the same place. I grabbed a your shape-fitness evolved Kinect box and the staff didn’t delay with the price matching with another store’s offer and even offered me a better discount if I bundled it with the console. I didn’t buy the console, which seemed to puzzle the staff and they patiently tried to explain, I couldn’t use the Fitness dvd without the console. I of course new that, but because JB Hifi don’t offer loyalty points, I chose to shop elsewhere for the console.
