Had the most amazing degustion set, included were amazing tastes that I have not tasted before or since.

Chez Pierre is a lovely French restaurant where we have dined many times. They usually have different special 5 course themed menus for 59.50 like each week will showcase a different region of France and its specials. Or you can order«à la Carte» if the set menu doesn’t suit your taste… We usually like to go for the regional menus because it is always different and turns out to be reasonably priced that way… The staff is always very polite, their uniforms and background music make you feel like you’ve stepped in Paris and depending on who is your waiter, it can feel quite authentic when it is a French person serving you. Overall this is our go to place for French restaurant, as it feels not too costly compared to other French restaurants in the area.

Very nice atmosphere. I have to say the service is the best I have in a very long time. Our waiter was so polite and always topping up everything. The 5 course meal was very delicious and the lamb was so tender. Prices are not too bad but the meals are quite small. Overall I would recommend just for the outstanding service.

Chez Pierre is that elusive combination of wonderful service, delicious food and pleasing ambience that is pretty hard to come by. Their weekly degustations are always amazing and pretty good value-for-money for what you get! The bread, oh my god the bread. It’s amazing.

hidden behind a low brick fence on stirling hwy is this french restaurant. service is great, and for a tue night, the turnout is pretty good. we had escargot, steak tartare, soup, seafood crêpe, steak, fish & chicken. food is good, but not extraordinaire. price-wise, it’s reasonable for a french restaurant. overall, if i have a craving for french-style foods, this place probably won’t be the first to come to mind.

Chez Pierre would have to be my favourite restaurant in Perth. The service is exceptional, right from the car park. We were greeted in the car park and shown to a free parking bay, then ushered inside and shown to our seats. The food is exceptional, the service was faultless and the atmosphere was perfect — close and intimate, with a distinctly Parisian feel. We ordered an entrée, main and dessert to share and I couldn’t fault anything. For the quality of the food and service I think it is FANTASTIC value! The bill came to far less than I expected — can’t wait to go back!

After many years of reading mixed reviews I dined here to celebrate a major relationship milestone. On arrival to the car park we were waved into a parking spot. My door was opened for me to step out. We were then guided into the restaurant. Despite being situated on Stirling Highway, there’s magnificent soundproofing as the traffic and street noise disappeared when the doors closed. The staff were superb. They explained the menu and we opted for a 5 course degustation to taste what the restaurant had to offer. It hit all the right notes. The menu I understand changes and depends on what is in season. The Amuse Bouche at the beginning was the house made pâté on a small piece of baguette. It sounds plain and simple but it was really good pâté and really good bread. For entrée I had on this occasion the Gratin de coquilles Saint-Jacques, Gratin of Fresh Shark bay Scallops, butter braised leeks, served with a creamy garlic veloute & finished under the grill. This was amazing. The scallops were fresh and cooked perfectly. The creamy garlic veloute is light and full of flavour. For the main I had the Cuisse de Canard Confite, Slow Confit Duck Leg, served with lyonnaise style sauteed potatoes, onions & fresh herbs, finished with a port wine sauce. The duck was tender and marinated well. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the duck wasn’t fatty. The potatoes were delicious and the port wine sauce finished off the dish well and complimented the flavours. The sorbet for the palate cleanser was just out of this world. Coconut and lime sorbet made exquisitely. Smooth, creamy and tangy. Following the sorbet was a cheese plate which had a blue cheese and a camembert cheese with quince paste and sultanas. By this point I was feeling really full and thank heavens because I really couldn’t fit in any more after this. There were slices of a delightful French baguette with butter available during the meal. From the beginning to the end the service was exquisite. Gold stars for silver service offered. Definitely worthy of a return visit.

We went for the hefty 5 course prix fixe, which focuses on a different French region each week. It was hit and miss. Butter, salt and cream are key themes. The gnocchi entrée was soft and delicious but the creamy mushroom ragout made it too rich. I could have been satisfied there, but then came…“Duck Leg Confit, served with wild rice, snow peas & a port sauce”. Sadly, this translated on the plate as; ‘fatty duck leg on salty wild rice in an extremely salty sauce with three cursory green beans’. This was a let down for all, but I will mention that they kindly substituted the set duck with fish for me. Dessert — a chocolate mousse — was the highlight. Unfortunately this was the last thing I felt like eating after the heavy savoury courses. Nevertheless, I found space for it in my Dessert Belly. Overall the food was pleasant, but it wasn’t lighting any fires. And when i’m splashing out, I want firecrackers! More than anything, this was a reminder of why I generally avoid French cuisine. To be fair, I’ll hand it to them for silver service, BYO, good table spacing privacy, and house baked bread which was *impossible* to pass on.

Nice French food with excellent service, prix fixe dinner. Mushroom foam concoction was the starter, was weird but tasty. Smoked salmon with capers for appetizer was very good. Amazingly moist beef cheeks in red wine sauce for main entrée. Liked the sorbet and currant liqueur palate cleanser in between plates. Dessert was a tart and ice cream, not memorable.

This restaurant is one of the best I’ve been to in Perth. We were greeted in the car park and ushered inside where we were met with smiles and helpful waitstaff, who knew the menu, joked with us and were on hand all the time but not in that annoying over the top way. The food was sensational, so good that we couldn’t’ even finish our bottle of wine, which is a first. Can’t wait to go back.

The essence of fine dining in Perth, Chez Pierre is almost borderline stereotypically French. Renowned for their cuisine it is not often that you will not come by a cheap French fooderie but its not often that you will come by a bad one either. They have managed to integrate the perfection across the board from the moment you step out of the car until you leave, even guiding you thruogh the menu if you are not well versed in French cuisine. To be charmed by this restaurant will cost you but it is all relative. If you are willing to pay it then try the fois-gras and rack of lamb, outstanding. They have an unbelievable deal on in 2012 that ‘takes you on a journey’ through a new French region every week. 5 courses will cost you $ 56.50(excluding Saturdays). A great way of tasting this tempting menu.
