The Bay Hotel

If you’re in the area, The Bay Hotel is probably one of the best places to stop off for lunch. I’d forgotten how much I liked this pub until our visit with family in November.
I think I was in charge of lunch arrangements and did a terrible job of it. In fact, we showed up here around 1pm for lunch for 8 adults and 3 kids with no reservations — I’m glad they were able to accommodate us as I had no real backup plan (I blame jetlag). They seated us in the outdoor area which is undercover and was just perfect for us as the kids were able to run wild without bothering anyone else. It’s a really good set up, and even though it was a pretty hot day it wasn’t too hot out there.
The food was really good and even though we were off in our own area, service was pretty decent. I’d definitely head back to this pub for another meal next time we’re in town — it’s got a lovely park over the road for kids, and is right near the beach. Just perfect.

The wife and I stopped in for drinks a few weeks back and had a great time. We didn’t eat here, so I can’t weigh in on the food. I can say though that the staff here is fantastic, particularly one of their bartenders name Nick. We received great service all night, enjoyed some of their fairly priced drink specials, and sank a few pints with some of the off-​duty staff.
All in all this is a nice place, and I’ll definitely return. I’m particularly looking forward to the opening of their rooftop beer garden.

Had lunch at The Bay today with a group of 12 ladies. The place was already full when we got there but we were seated quickly & service was prompt & friendly.
The staff knew how many people were in our group & came to take meal orders once we were all there each with a drink in hand.
The $ 15.00 lunch deal, choice of pasta, risotto or salad which includes a glass or wine, soft drink or coffee, is great value.
I really enjoyed my garlic prawn risotto & was eyeing off the other girls meals which all looked very yummy! And I didn’t hear a single complaint from any of the girls.
Their $ 8.00 desserts are very generous portions, next time I think I’d get one to share.
Will defiantly be going back to The Bay!
