We went there for Yum Cha yesterday. Food was great, service was quick except one thing I’m concerning about. That is for female waitress to please tie their hair up properly. Not to have hair in their face or hanging to the side because on one of the yum cha’s trolley, we found a long hair on the top of the food and that really puts us off.

Really good yum cha — high turnover therefore food is fresh! proper quality ingredients used and service(especially saek lon) is outstanding ! Standout dishes are shiu mai, chives dumpling, egg tarts, prawn beancurd and chrysathemum jelly(basically everything we had today). This will be our new weekly yum cha restaurant. Not one to do reviews unless its well deserved and this one definitely is.

If you are looking for tasty and reasonably good value asian style food, then Little Canton Chinese Restaurant is certainly one to consider. There is abundant competition for the food dollar around this location, so being fresh and tasty is essential if you want customers back and I for one would be more than happy to return. The staff are friendly and helpful(and that always is a plus in my book) and the food is genuinely well prepared and presented(and of course smells & tastes excellent). I have now dined within as well as used the take away service — both offered the same quality of food. The dine in restaurant is large and makes use of paper table covers for fast turnaround and of course keeps everything clean. If I have any criticism it would be that the sound levels are a tad distracting as it is very open and with nothing to dampen sound, however it’s not 5 star dining and is designed for shorter stays. The local Asian population also seem to frequent(and that in my book is a great sign). If you like Asian food — I recommend you give this a try

New owners(formally Golden Crown) have revamped the restaurant, now with modern décor and fresh outlook. The most impressive change though is the food, the yum cha is the best I have had in Adelaide, and I do regularly. It is fantastic. I have only had one take away meal of garlic mixed vegetables and roast duck and it was great too, obviously their new chef /s are doiing a great job. I(and friends) have been for yum cha a few times now and can’t beat it. You should try this place. Parking is easy too and only a short distance from the city.
