Rocksalt Restaurant & Lounge Bar

This was an unexpected find — a really really good Modern Australian restaurant in the back of Menai! The food here is delicious, well-​presented and genuinely «modern».
Definitely not the standard suburban restaurant fare I actually expected!
Service was wonderful — cheerful and attentive. Wine list was great. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back!

Modern Australian fine dining in a cozy but spacious restaurant. A great menu and a consistently lovely dining experience. Not cheap but good value. Just right for birthdays and other special occasions.

A lovely spot.
Rocksalt is the perfect place for a romantic dinner, a place for drinks or a place for a special occasion. The atmosphere is what I would call ‘suburban posh’, not too many tables, a large lofty interior and an attentive wait staff.
The restaurant is quite pricey but the standard of food, the attentive staff and the general atmosphere of the place justifies the $ 30 + mains. If you do go during the week, and this I strongly recommend, you can get two courses from their a’la carte menu for $ 42, excellent value for a mid week treat. We went mid week and I ordered the sweet potato rosti, which was beautiful, followed by a yummy eye fillet steak. It is most definitely hard to resist the raspberry crème brûlée.
Rock Salt is also a great place for after dinner drinks, with an impressive cocktail menu and lovely desserts, it is a popular rendezvous point after dining in one of the other restaurants in the Menai Metro complex.
