Great little spot with good food and great coffee. Very friendly staff with great service. Good place to chill out and read a complimentary newspaper in the morning

Given St Kilda road is essentially jam packed with high rises of the office or apartment kind it’s a huge wonder (and a testament to Melbourne’s stubborness on such matters) that there aren’t more cafes and restaurants.
Times café is largely unremarkable in most respects. The food is fine, the service is fine and the location is fine.
Where it manages to shine is in the coffee. Good enough to draw workers out of neighbouring buildings and justify its slightly higher than average price point the coffee is arguably the best for several blocks.
Sure, it’s not outstanding but the fact is it doesn’t need to be. It’s still the best you’re going to get anywhere nearby.
