Theobroma Chocolate Lounge

Terrible. Just terrible.
The coffee had to be thrown away as it was so appalling. This is actually a chain restaurant.

I love love love the dark chocolate mint hot chocolate. It’s so balanced in flavour so the mint doesnt over power the dark chocolate and vice versa where the chocolate isn’t too sweet. Refreshing taste and great place to catch up or have a sit down during university hours while on break.

OMG why haven’t I been here before? This chocolate café uses real chocolate in their hot chocolate.
I had a caramel hot chocolate this afternoon and it was so very delicious.
I also had a few spoonfuls of a friends cheese cake. While it didn’t make me swoon I did have a second spoonful.
The staff are friendly and the location is well placed in Melbourne Central. They have seating outside of the café but that’s still inside the centre. I’ve walked past this place A LOT and it mostly has free tables. (Not sure why). If you like drinking good quality drinking chocolate you should check this café out.

Walking past Theobroma on Saturday nights on my way to Hoyts upstairs, I always say to myself: «Hmm. This place looks good. I have to try it someday.» Being in the CBD today on a very rare day off from work, I decided that that someday would be today so I went there to get some lunch.
Walking in, you can’t help but notice the relaxed atmosphere… Adele providing the tunes, the staffs going about their business without making heaps of noise and even the diners are surprisingly quiet. Theobroma offers a near perfect spot to sit back, relax and read a book.
The drink menu is fairly broad w/​hot chocolate, coffee, tea, iced chocolate being on offer. In terms of food, you can choose from sandwiches, calzones or grab a burger. They also have an all day brekkie menu — I had their eggs benedict w/​smoked salmon, which was pretty good.
The prices are cheap as well. My dish cost me $ 8 however I have to admit that the portion size is quite average. My eggs came on 2 english muffins which, well you know how big english muffins are…
Now, it wouldn’t be a chocolate lounge without chocolate and they have a broad selection of chocolates and cakes to satisfy your guilty pleasure.
I will definitely return and try one of their desserts next time!

I didn’t know such tranquility, luxury and indulgence could exist in shopping centres, until I came across this lounge in Melbs Central.
I love food and a nice, quiet place to relax after some shopping but places like that are increasingly hard to find in the day of the overcrowded food court.
Theobroma offer a delectable array of Belgian, hand made chocolates in varying shapes, and of course in different choc varieties and flavours! All in a cosy, quiet and relaxing lounge.
Beyond the boxed and hand chocolates, you just cannot go past ordering a beautiful strawberry sensation, yummm!
