Be patient (i.e. it can take a few visits) and you may find something fabulous at a great price at the Scanlan clearance store in Melbourne Central. Don’t be expecting current season when you walk in — think more a cross-​section of the last 4 or 5 seasons. However, this doesn’t matter so much because some of Scanlan’s designs defy the seasons. As with other Scanlans, the changerooms have no mirrors (grrrr), so you have to use a communal mirror at the back of store (double grrr).

I adore Scanlan & Theodore as much as the next style-​centric girl. It can definitely be on the pricey side, but given much of it is made in Australia, it’s limited run, focuses on quality fabrics and is genuinely unique design (unlike some other local labels, *cough*) the price is mostly justified.
If you can’t however, afford or justify the price (and even if you can) but still admire the merchandise… get along to their clearance outlet.
With an assortment of past season stock, slightly damaged (split seam, dodgy zip) current season stock and samples, there’s lots to find in this store… and a lot of it at great prices.
So stop reading and start shopping.
