Best pizza I’ve had in a long while. Super quick delivery. Recommend the panned special. Have had on two occasions and both great

This is more of a CBF’ed destination when in the city, and you want to grab a snack with a some pocket change. Mind you, the majority of burgers and the like in the window look quite off putting and more in common with one of those mindless American eating challenges. I’ve had pizza here a few times, and it’s generally super piping hot and quite greasy, but also tasty. Works on a similar model to other similar pizza shop’s before and after it’s time. Probably no surprise that this place is going to be very popular amongst the drunks and the inundation of footy crowds on game days. Though good pizza for price taste and convenience in comparison to anything else nearby.

When you’re wandering the mean streets of Melbourne on a Monday night, navigating roving bands of hipsters and most all other places are closed and you need a feed, Panned Pizza fills a gap. I get the name, but… ‘panned’ pizza. It sounds like it’s just competed on a variety show and the judges universally disliked it’s act. The pizzas are big and tasty and probably not all that healthy but hell, this is pizza, if you want healthy go marry some kale you clean-eating freak. The burgers looked big and juicy and laden with all kinds of American accoutrements and I was kinda sad I wasn’t getting one of them but maybe next time.

Funny that a place called Panned Pizza has some pretty solid burgers. But that was the case earlier today when I attended this establishment. My suggestion? Stick to the pizzas, and get it delivered. As stated earlier the burgers are by no means bad, but there are better places in Melbourne to whet your Burger appetite. The onion rings left something to be desired, too, and the general ambience was less ‘old-school New York Diner’ and more ‘Western suburb pizza joint’. All in all, it was an adequate dining experience, but not a place I would go out of my way to eat at.

So we on a mission for aBurger, even to the point of bringing up listings for Melbourne’s best, which by the way are mostly closed on a Saturday in the CBD. At strike 3 my companions suggested a pizza joint which would not normally be a bragging point when your talking about burgers… So this self advertised American styled pizza joint had a huge selection of burgers, from the run of the mill to far left field. I went for the Juicy Lucy $ 14 which, let’s face it is about as far left field as you can get when you name a burger. Wagu patty filled with cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato. All I can say this burger lived up to its name, delicious is an understatement and with a side of poutine fries(Canadian chips with cheese and gravy) a completely debaucherous experience. Will definitely go back.
