Looking for beautifully modernistic Vietnamese ceramics? Delicious Fair Trade Sumatran coffee beans? Or even cases of wine from exclusively family owned local vineyards? The Oxfam Shop has them all. Specialising in ‘Beautiful hand made homewares from artisans all over the world’ Oxfam shops have come a long way from their somewhat hippyish genesis. And this one, in the Bourke Street mall, certainly doesn’t disappoint. I used to shop at Oxfam in the name of altruism, usually walking out with a Christmas card or some lovely paper. But the concept has come along in leaps and bounds in the last few years and now stocks a hugely impressive range of toys, CDs, books, home décor, kitchen stuff, Fair Trade food, accessories and, yes, wine. And at very reasonable prices considering that this is a charitable venture. A great initiative and a great shop.
