My favourite Asian Supermarket in Melbourne CBD. Best range and excellent prices mean I will go the extra mile to visit Laguna. Seriously, it is further away from my work than other supermarkets so I LITERALLY will go the extra mile. The store is access via a flight of stair, however there is ramp access via QV. Some excellent features of Laguna are the extensive frozen section and fridge sections. And they do not charge extra for cold drinks. The shelves are stocked neatly, the prices are clear and the specials are marked with tickets. The cashiers are friendly and the times when I have asked for help finding an item, they have been very helpful. There is a minimum spend for using eftpos cards — it’s only $ 10 though. They do not stock a range of fresh foods. I’m not sure about alcohol. You must see Laguna for yourself, I’ve been going for years and it’s still as tidy/clean/lovely to shop in as the day it opened.

The Good: Located on the 3rd floor of QV, Laguna is a great place to pop by if you’re close to the city centre. Stocking everything from fresh produce to asian sodas to sauces, this is also the place to go if you’re looking for any Indonesian food product. Laguna is also the cleanest asian grocer in the city with the most comprehensive soy milk and tofu selection. The Bad: The cashiers are really slow.

This rather large Asian grocery store is kind of hidden away. They have a rather big range of Asian foods and drinks, plus some medicinal items too, but they seem to specialise in Indonesian food. They don’t have a few items that I often look for, like Boss Coffee(a brand of canned coffee from Japan), Royal Milk Tea, and other candies, cookies and chips. However, there are more than enough products here to try. Like dumplings and moon cakes and tamarind lollies and dried durian and roti and Malaysian maggi noodles and much more. Just make sure to check the ticket price on the shelf and see whether you’ll get a discount if you buy more than one product, and also check the expiration dates.

Laguna Oriental Supermarket is great for all your Asian grocery needs. if you not a regular or an early riser seen at local markets around town, Laguna offers many Asian ingredients similar to what many local markets provide. Mostly dry or packeted ingredients of course, but nevertheless its a great place to stock up and they seem to alway have everything that i need. They also stock kaya(coconut jam) black sesame ice cream, which are two of my favourites.
