As a student, I know that students need to learn. Also, as a student, I know that cheap is really nice to find and far too many of us go months without a decent haircut because rent gets in the way. Imagine my delight, then, when I found out that BIBA hairdressing academy offers hair services(including colour and styling) at a very heavily reduced price. What’s not to love? Of course, I did need my entire afternoon free to dedicate to the haircut. The kids are learning, after all, and a snip of the scissors must be met with teacher approval. The teacher, by the way, is spectacular. He looks like a cross between Fagin from Oliver and what would happen if Harry Potter turned into a Russian glam-rock band manager. Does that even make sense? I suspect that these students are usually asked to do funky haircuts and restyles rather than trims and tidies. A friend of mine with hair that has grown down past her waist completely stunned and, I think, horrified the poor pixie assigned to her when she asked for a couple of centimetres removed and not a dramatic change. But, why? Why? The poor dear, she had to get Fagin’s help to figure out the request. If you have the time and the patience and don’t mind intense scrutiny of your head, it’s worth going. I’ve heard that learner drivers are amongst the safest on the road because they have a supervisor right there to help. Same here.
