This is the reason I shouldn’t live in Manly. Oh my god. Amazing Icecream flavours — all the cookie dough, marshmallow, choc chunks, peanut butter, waffle cone, caramel swirl and fudge you could ever want in your Icecream. Damn it I missed out fudge brownie. Recommend ordering 2 scoops in a cup then getting them to make a big hole in the middle to allow a silly amount of hot chocolate sauce on board. Then go back half way through eating, pay an extra 20c for even more hot chocolate sauce… Staff are very accommodating to people wanting to glutton themselves to a food coma. Don’t want to love a chain store but if you’ve gotta love one its got to be B&Js!!!

Peanut butter icecream with cookie dough and brownie… need I say more? Friendly staff, good location and just so much yumminess. It DID melt way too quickly though so maybe something to look at on their end!

The eponymous B & J really got their branding sorted. Their marketing, too, for that matter. The whole save-the-world, eco-conscious thing really sits well with me, hell, I feel good buying stuff from people who care about, like, stuff, and that. And these guys do heaps of good things. Plus their little cow mascot has the cutest pink tongue, hee hee hee! Also found a new flavour called Clusterpuff last night, with peanut and marshmallow. My buddy once entered a competition to name a new flavour with Fudge Judy — it didn’t win, but it shoulda have, it’s the best ice cream name in the history of ice cream names. Deliciousness is on the expensive side, at $ 5.40 for a Small cup with 1 x scoop, making it towards the pricier end of the ice cream spectrum, but hey, if you like it, get it all up in your face hole.

Love their dark chocolate and cherry ice cream. Strong, punchy and sweet flavours! A great treat to enjoy on a hot day here, also when on the way walking to Shelly Beach and the heads. A Sydney ice cream icon :)

Behold! A Ben and Jerry’s in Manly! I had previously thought Ben & Jerry’s was a purely American phenomenon(I possibly need to get out more), and had no hope of sampling their flavours without actually going to America. Imagine my surprise at finding one right here in Manly! The mind boggles at the variety there is to choose from. How can you possibly choose just one, when there are tastebud-teasing flavours like ‘chunky monkey’, ‘clusterfluff’ and ‘phish food’ to choose from?! Granted, phish food doesn’t sound particularly appetizing, but that’s because you don’t know that it is actually chocolate ice cream, with marshmallows, caramel and little chocolate fish. I, obviously, tried the phish food, which was just divine. I can’t even put into words. Who knew ice cream could inspire such enthusiasm in me? You can get them in cones, cups, or pints, whichever you like. Cones are lovely, I like their cones. And that’s just their ice cream! Apart from ice cream, they sell smoothies, sundaes, chillers, and hot chocolate. Try it.

Quick secret? I don’t like ice cream. When my boyfriend discovered this, he undertook a quest to fix this«taste defect»(thanks, babe) and cure me. We did the ice cream tour of the Northern Beaches, and I have to say, of all the ice creams I tried, Ben & Jerry’s was the best… Being a massive caffeine addict, I decided to try the coffee flavour with hot-fudge topping. The bf got into something called half-baked, which I have to admit was delicious. The coffee ice cream and hot fudge was a pretty good combination, but I still don’t really big ice cream. But the experience was fun — the staff in there are all very cute and serious about ice cream, which endeared them to my boyfriend greatly. They made various suggestions as to how to cure me, promoting various flavours in their HUGE range. There are an astonishing amount of ice cream flavours available there, I really didn’t know such a thing was possible. If you’re an ice cream lover, then Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop is most definitely the spot for you

When I found out that Ben and Jerry had an ice cream store in Manly I was thrilled. Since trying their chunky monkey ice cream I’ve been a big fan and have made it a mission to try all their flavours at least once. The Ben and Jerry’s store in Manly is super dangerous for ice cream eating monsters like me. Firstly when you walk in and get sight of their ice cream cake section you immediately freeze and start to stare and drool, until you start to see the crazy choc ball toppings they can put through the middle of your ice cream cone and not just on top, after which you get so excited you sprint to the counter and smash your face against the glass above where they keep the ice cream and try and decide on just 3 flavours you want on your sprinkle, chocolate dipped waffle cone, gargle gargle droooooool…
