Best Indian we have tried in Perth. And we have tried a few! All dishes are full of flavour and completely authentic. Head chef is so lovely and friendly as well and really looks after his customers. You can order through one of the menu apps or directly with the restaurant. They do dine in and take away.

Just grabbed take-away and was pleased. Food was tasty and fresh. I got some garlic nan bread, beef vindaloo, a chicken dish and a rice for $ 40. Complimentary papadams were supplied. I’d happily dine here — the restaurant was modern & clean and the staff seemed friendly.

I tried this restaurant for takeaway to compare it with my usual Indian restaurant Masala. It is small restaurant alongside a shopping centre and is setup for eating in as well as takeaway. The interior is clean although the furniture is very basic. The atmosphere in the restaurant was non existent although it was a Sunday evening ! As far as the food goes I had a Chicken Madras with the zerra rice and a garlic naan. The food was nice although the curry was very creamy based and the rice appeared as ½ plain and ½ plain coated in saffron ! Worth trying to see if it is to your taste of Indian food.

It is actually quite hard to find a good Indian restaurant in Perth. Coming from England, anyone how has had a curry there will no what I mean, currys in Perth just aren’t as good. This place however, comes quite close. On wednesday nights they have a buffet, which I think if you haven’t tried it before go on this night, that way you can try a few different types of curry and as much as you want! The staff are so friendly as well, I think that is one of the best things about this place. We go there quite a lot and now they greet us by name, its the perfect local family business. Really personal. This is honestly the best curry I have had in Perth, bombay potato being my personal favourite, and of course, garlic naam.

They say you should never judge a book by its cover. Well, the proof is in the curry at Essence of India. It’s a little shop smacked on the side of a local shopping centre. The tables and chairs look like they came out of the same place as Chandler and Joey’s dining table after they had all their stuff stolen. I mean, we’re talking dingy chairs and tables. There was nothing absolutely spectacular about the décor, the walls were drab and left EVERYTHING to the imagination. But the food, was absolutely great. Complimentary poppadoms and chutney was a nice touch. We got the butter chicken and the potato dish and both were hearty, flavoursome and plentiful. The rice was fragrant but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. The naan bread really impressed me but if I had any criticism it would be that it was a bit too buttery and hence rubbery. But apart from that the meal was real amazing for the decent prices you’re paying. Some places you can end up paying $ 100 for two people but this place was really great in that it didn’t amount to a cost that two uni students couldn’t afford. It’s a bit out of the way and basically on the way to Yanchep, but if you’re in the area it’s really great for a good curry.
