We ordered two set of Bendo, both have gyoza. It actually tastes fine, but I’d say they are not the Japanese style ‘gyoza’. As we have discovered in the restaurant, the owners & most of its staff are Korean, I do believe it is the Korean way to do this gyoza. It’s ok to give it a try. Maybe next time, I would order some traditional Korean food, guess it will taste better.

I have walked past this restaurant many times and had never gone in, even though I live just a couple of blocks away, so decided to make a quick stop for lunch this week. The restaurant is quite small and not much of an atmosphere, probably not somewhere you would go for a nice dinner, but for a quick and cheap lunch, it’s decent. I had the Chicken Teryaki Tepan that came with rice and miso soup, and although the portion was a decent size, it was less tasty than most chicken teryakis I’ve had elsewhere. I’d say if you want a quick and affordable Japanese feed and happen to be around the area, it’s not a bad choice, but if you’re willing to spend a little more, walk a couple of blocks further towards Maroubra and go to Niji instead, where you’ll be able to get much better quality and variety.
