Sticky Beaks Café isn’t in the area of Kings Park I normally visit. The entry road is around 300m from the main entry heading away from the CBD near the tennis courts. It is next to a gated playground so it’s perfect for families to congregate at. Prices of food is on par with the rest of Perth with mains being at around the $ 10 mark and slices and muffins falling in the range of $ 3 — $ 5. There’s sandwiches, paninis, salads, and hot foods including chips, pies, sausage rolls, and even fish and chips. There’s a large range of hot and cold drinks on off You do need to order from the counter and they give you a buzzer to take back to exchange. If it’s busy, bag the table first. Tables and chairs are inside or located under the verandah and protected areas.

I came here recently with some friends who have a 1-year old and was very pleasantly surprised! I’ve passed by it in King’s Park but never been inside. I always assumed it would fairly overpriced given the location, but everything was actually very reasonable(mains from under $ 10 and slices for $ 2.50)! There is a nice big playground area out back, and both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a no-frills kind of place in terms of décor, but the service was friendly enough, food was good, and the King’s Park location is gorgeous! We were there on a Monday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy, but I can imagine it might be on weekends. This place is really geared towards people with kids; however, I would go back if I were in King’s Park, even without them!

This is literally one of my favourite cafes to visit on a sunny Sunday! Beautiful food with large helpings and every item is always cooked to perfection. Also always enjoy the milkshakes and the fish and chips! A great place to come with your partner, a group of friends or a nice family day out! Busy bustling café with a beautiful view over the café. Nice location as you can go for a nice walk around the parks as there is plenty of parking and a great playground over shallow water for the kids. It’s a busy place but we always manage to get a seat quite quickly. The staff are lovely and make you fe at home. Great place!

I love it here because the food is sooo good! always fresh and homemade. it is sometimes hard to find a table when its busy but its nice being able to sit outdoors and be in kings park and healthier and more nutritious food than I found at the other cafes in kings park. I’d definately reccommend — I get taken there for lunch as a treat!

Great playground in Kings Park, nice small play area for toddlers, small maze, a pirate ship, a little castle, fire truck, airplane and a bigger playground for older toddlers. Heaps of shaded areas for picnic and a couple of water fountains that I found pretty handy during summer and all surrounded by beautiful bushland. The café is not bad, has a good range of ice creams, muffins, toasties, chips, pies… This is an extremely popular spot so if you go on weekends will most probably be completely packed! Fact: parents prefer playgrounds that have caffeine!

If like me children annoy you, don’t come here. It is quite perfect for mums to catch up with friends whilst having their kids entertained at the same time. For me however I went with my Mum and little sister. I hated every minute, the coffee was bland and I wouldn’t of enjoyed it even if the queen had made it, just because of the surroundings. Not for me.

Stickybeaks café is definitely popular with parents and kidlettes alike. I caught up with one of my more maternal friends here when she last came down to Perth for a fleeting visit. Ironically, the sheer popularity of this place is one of its biggest drawbacks. When I arrived it was mid-morning on a Saturday school holiday, peakest of peak times. What seemed like hundreds of kids hurried about, scurrying from drawcard to drawcard in the obviously well funded Lotterywest playground. Good God. I was an exceptionally quiet child and the loud and boisterous boys bustling about combined with long lines and sometimes pushy parents would have sent me into a state of internal disarray and complete despondence. The louder kids will have a ball jostling for each piece of playground equipment and momentarily claiming it for themselves. But quiet kids will not enjoy this place in peak times. Do them a favour and take them to somewhere more soothing and a bit more soulful. The café at the entrance was predictably over-priced and aesthetically bland. Not a morsel of health food in sight for any of the more discerning parents. You can bring your own food in here and there is a bit of shade around but my word of warning is: choose your time. It was also a bit tricky to get a park when I arrived, although I eventually managed to score one.

Located within the Lotterywest Family playground, this is a perfect café for parents to pick up a cuppa and sandwich whilst the kids go mental at the playground. It was nearing closing time when we dropped in but managed to grab ice cream and drinks for the troops. If you’re grabbing lunch, sit indoors or take in the delightful greenery ala al fresco style. Look out for the huge black crows though who would happily tuck into your leftovers.

Beside the Ivey Watson Playground, this little café keeps the parents entertained while the playground keeps the kids entertained. It is in Kings Park but just off Kings Park Road so there’s no need to traipse the kids for miles if they’re hungry or better still, if you’re hungry. They serve up good coffees and a selection of snacks and lunch options.
