Chom Thai Cuisine

We’ve ordered from here twice in the past few months. The first time we had delivery, which was not a good experience. The second time I opted for take away, and was let down again.
The food quality is average. Based on reviews from various sites, I was lead to believe the food here to be outstanding. However, it was pretty standard in terms of what Perth has to offer in the way of Thai cuisine.
What really lets them down is the service, or lack thereof. The first time we ordered delivery and were told it would be an hour wait. After an hour, with no sign of the driver, I phoned to be told it was on its way. Almost 1 ½ hours after we ordered the food arrived. I understand they get busy, but don’t promise something you can’t delivery (literally!).
The second time, to avoid such lengthy wait times, I decided to pick up my order instead. When told it would be ready in 40 minutes, I arrived at the store. It took a long time to have someone attend to me at the counter. The owner, an older gentleman, appeared flustered with the amount of customers and phone orders coming in. The kitchen was in full view, and they were busy preparing meal after meal. I was first told it would be another 15 minutes, and was directed outside to wait.
After 20 minutes, I came inside to check on my order, and it was sitting to the side. Who knows how long it was there before I came to check, but I was unimpressed no one had come out to get me. Clear lack of communication between the staff.
I felt very uncomfortable as the owner berated one of his new staff. He was so condescending to her, it was disgusting. She had forgotten to put the time on one of the orders, so he had a go at her saying this is why she was supposed to study (?) how to take orders. Really? You expect your casual employees to study taking orders? In their own time? I doubt you pay them enough when they’re at work, let alone to work when at home.
If you don’t mind a long, unspecified, wait time, then this could be the place for you.

Compared to other Thai restaurants around the area, this place is more expensive and their food isn’t that good.

food here is tops definitely authentic Bangkok style cuisine, flavours as spicy as you desire, the owner chef is from Bangkok am told she has been cooking 45 years. cooked for many years at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok, entrée’s everything is made by her. Fresh mouth watering food. I’ve eaten at all the Thai restaurants in Vic Park & all over Thailand. This the best Thai food in PERTH

Very overpriced food. Service wasn’t very good too, the waiter mistakenly put our food on somebody else’s table before finally served to us and who knows if someone touched it. How could they justifies charging a small vegetable stir fry, a small pad thai and a small noodle dish for a total of $ 48.50, tbh when the check arrived i almost felt like being robbed. smh.

These peeps produce consistently delicious reasonably authentic Bangkok style Thai food.

Better still its only 5 minutes walk from my front door. How can I complain!
