Behind Our Picket Fence is one of the latest additions to the Ipswich food scene. It’s located along Brisbane Street in one of the new buildings that is still very much being fitted out, just a few hundred meters away from the mall.
The fit out is very fresh, clean and simple, with big bright lights and faux brick walls. It’s not the typical «black ceiling, lots of copper and timber» on-​trend look that seems to be appearing everywhere, and is a nice change.
The staff are super friendly, and the food is excellent. We had the chicken pie, a pork belly burger and an omelette, and all 3 were absolutely excellent, with generous servings and great taste!
For the kids, they even have small «kids tables» that are painted with blackboard paint so the kids can entertain themselves drawing on the tables with the supplied chalk!
