Best soy latte in town. Lovely staff, interesting eats… Just wish the cakes would change variety a little more often…

Spot-on for takeaway coffee. I ordered, and had a latte in hand in a jiffy. It was creamy and delicious, and I think I’ll make time for lunch next go around. Lucky for me, it’s only 2 blocks from where I’m working at the moment. Lucky for them I am a coffee addict…

A dear friend gifted me a copy of Hide & Seek Hobart just before I moved down, and Shoebox was given such a lovely wrap in there, I felt I had no choice but to rock up and see for myself what all the fuss was about… My take-away coffee was served way too hot, but my disappointment there was well and truly outweighed by my delight in the spicy Korean chicken pide. HOLYCRAP, THATPIDE! I wouldn’t have described it as «spicy» but the flavour was insanely good, and it wasn’t just the chicken. The whole thing made my life better. Delicious, fresh bread and just the right combination of salad stuff made it one of the best face-treats I’ve had in this town. Eating in is only possible in small groups, because there’s very limited space — but most of their menu can be taken away(pides pides pides get a pide take a pide away subliminal pide message). I was curious to see a little sign saying they sell duck fat(infused with amazing spices) here, perfect for roast potatoes… instant drool. I’m clearly going to have to learn which of the bazillion potato types that are available down here is best for roasting, so I can get on that. Thank you, Shoebox. There’s a large selection of pides for lunch so do yourself a favour and try one. I won’t rest until I’ve sampled the entire menu. I’m also planning on giving their coffee a second go… maybe with a wanky temperature request next time. P. S. These guys are pretty active on instagram, and I was VERY excited to see a picture of a little van and a mention of «food van culture» and«coming soon». I’m all ears…
