This restaurant is tiny, however since most people get their food take-away here it doesn’t matter. I don’t have much to say about this place other than that you should go try it! If you are looking for a quick and cheap take-away this should definitely be on your list if you’re in the area. Most meals you can get for $ 10 or less and having been here on a few occasions they have all been delicious. I’m surprised they are able to handle so many orders using that small kitchen of theirs.

I come here occasionally for takeaway to indulge sentimental memories of faraway uni days, when we used to eat here with a bottle or three of horribly cheap sparkling and procrastinate like mad — but its still turns out very decent thai food which is crazy cheap(I’ve had Thai food at three times the price which isn’t as good as Satang!). Definitely recommend.

This place really delivers the goods because its: — Super cheap(Sub-$ 10), its perfect for the residing student population — Great tasting thai food — Very generous portions(if you aren’t hungry, consider sharing with a friend and you get an insanely cheap meal) Perfect for 1or 2 people dining in — although any more and it becomes hard to find seats due to the small size of the takeaway join. If you live nearby, its also good too as you can just take away and eat it at home. I’m sure I’ll be back here many times when I don’t feel like cooking.

This is one of the few constants in the city. Satang has been here for over 10 years and in all that time prices, dishes and quality have remained pretty stable on a good level. In addition to that the on pavement seating and cramped space indoors makes this place a favorite to students and locals alike. Don’t mix up Satang Thai Takeaway with Satang Thai Exclusive just opposite. It’s the same owner, but a different biz. The latter is a bit more expensive, but as the name says more exclusive. Satang Thai Takeaway gives you more of a Thai street food feel.

ATTENTION all ravenous uni students… …there is a solution to avoiding that awkward grumbling sound — and it comes at a great price. If you want to add some variety to your staple diet of 2 for 1 sushi rolls and Macca’s runs, check out the little corner next to The Marque hotel and see what UTS students have been(secretly) raving about. I usually head into Satang Thai for their fantastic Pad See Ew noodles, and because the service is always quite speedy to boot. You can forget about miniature sized portions and inflatable tofu too, this little Thai place makes for a solid in-between lecture meal. Best part is, if you aren’t as ravenous as aforementioned, splitting one with a mate will only cost you a fiver. So come in and have a refreshing baby coconut drink to celebrate the end of the uni week. Thai Fridays are incredibly popular, and you’re always welcome a seat… or someone else’s. University of Technology students have been keeping their little secret for way too long.
