Ordered the papaya salad Lao style(asked for but was not), got the mushroom and bamboo stew(Kang nor mai) was not very good at all, the chicken liver skewers, and Lao style sausages. Everything was very mediocre. I’m Lao so have very high standards about Lao food. Everyone in restaurant was Thai so maybe the Thai dishes are better. I wouldn’t go there. The first waitress we had was a rude and seemed annoyed by us and I really don’t know why?

There are plenty of Thai restaurants in the city but you would struggle to find another Lao place! This place brings authentic Lao food into the city and it is pretty good. The only gripe I have is that the portions are quite small for the price but I put that down to city pricing! The Lao style salads are great but be warned, if you ask for spicy it will be burning hot and not for the faint hearted.

There’s two parts to this restaurant. One is an authentic Asian street stand out the front, with a bainmarie offering takeaway Thai lunch boxes for $ 5 a pop and a number of Thai street food snacks(mainly meat and fish on sticks) for around the $ 2 mark. The service is friendly, the street stand is usually manned by smily Thai girls. A great option for students at the nearby University of Technology Sydney, or if you happen to be passing through the area and need a quick snack. The second part of this restaurant, which, admittedly, I have not tried, is a small Thai restaurant, serving a lot of authentic dishes that aren’t found at your regular suburban Thai joint. Whilst it won’t be winning any awards for ambience with its romantic view of Ultimo Road, the dishes seem very reasonably priced, all around the $ 10 mark, making it a good option for Thai if you’re in the area and too lazy to walk to Thai Town. I see a lot of Thai students and workers eating in here at lunchtime, which is always a good sign.

It is a small thai place located right across from the university of technology Sydney. My cousin who is a student there visits that place very often as it provides hot and freshly cooked food at a very reasonable price and it is a very good place when you are tired of studying for continuously three hours in a row. The staff is very friendly and catch on to the students requirements very soon. They provide snacks like spring rolls along with small take away boxes for a mere price of five dollars though the take box is enough to fill one person’s appetite. The service if fast and the food is fresh. what more could you ask for if you are a student on the go?
