This is the first time I have ever tried Filipino food with my Filipino mate. I’m an adventurous foodie so I’m really into anything strange: D I had dinuguan which is pork neck with blood jelly. It’s scary for many but I love it a lot. It reminds me of many blood jelly dishes back in Vietnam. You can barely smell or taste the blood at all. Blood is marinated well into the pork which is very tasty. I had the whole bowl of blood jelly and still craved for me! Blood thirst :)) ! Well, blood is good for you ;) The second dish is crispy pata. Another great one cos I like anything crispy. I have to say that crispy pork leg is crispier and less fat than crispy pork belly: P ! I only wish if they can give more sauce for this dish. Service is not that good. I did have to wait for a long time. Will come back for sizzling sisig — pork heads dish!

Overall quite disappointing. We arrived for lunch and the restaurant only had a few diners. Had to ask for the lunch special menu as only the full menu was provided initially. Once ordered, it took a long time for the food to arrive. It doesn’t say much for a restaurant when the best part of the meal was the buko juice. Pork adobo was dry and not as flavoursome as it should be, garlic rice tasted like the garlic was burnt, eggs were overcooked and the longanisa was only average. I had been hoping the food would be a pleasant reminder of many meals in The Philippines, but overall it left us rather let down. Can’t say we will be returning.

Definitely didn’t hit the spot. Food was disappointing and lacked flavour acrowthe many dishes we ordered and thought the prices were a bit rich for the level of quality. Wouldn’t return even if it was the only Filipino restaurant in town sad to say :-(

We arrived on a Thursday night at 6pm and the place was already busy. A smile appeared immediately on my face because I knew the food was going to be good. We ordered a couple of entrees including the quail eggs. All ok but nothing to rave about. Mains we had Adobe Chicken, Lechang Kawali(pork belly), Tinolong Yamen ng Karagatan(seafood in a broth), Pansit Luglug(smoked fish with noodles). Everything was delicious and fresh. We love trying different and adventurous food so we ordered the Sizzling Slsig(pig head parts). I know what your thinking… «there is no way you would eat that»…BUT… give it a try! It was so tasty and don’t worry the actual full pig head is not presented on your plate. The full bar consists of a few bottles of wine and two beers(gulp). You come to this place for the great food not the extensive wine list. My only criticism was the lack of service. It was not the waiters fault. Not enough staff to cater for the amount of people in the restaurant.

Now you’re back at 3 again! Quality seems to be flip-flopping. During my latest visit, the place was packed and level of service went down(but still not as bad as the first visit). Food came out promptly but requests for water were ignored. Food quality went down a bit as well. Even the kaldereta, which I had previously lusted over, was just OK. The meat was tough and had lots of gristle in it. We ordered dessert and the the leche flan was good. I can’t make up my mind about this place. I wish my mom would just visit me and whip up a Filipino feast.

I have been missing Philippino food and was happy to find out about this restaurant. We had lumpia, crispy pork belly, chicken adobo, and halo halo. It was all up to par. We went on a Wednesday night so it was moderately busy, but not crowded. We will probably go back at some point when we are in the area.

I’ve never had much experience with Filipino food, outside of chicken adobo, so when I saw that this place opened up a little while ago I made a note to check it out. My Filipino friends and friends who have lived in the Philippines warned me that the food might be heavy and I paid no heed to their warnings cause I typically love heavy food. GOODLAWD was I wrong!!! Filipino food is like finally dating someone you’ve crushed on for a while and then finding out their whole family died in a tragic accident. It looks so good but it’s also some seriously heavy stuff. 5 of us rocked up without reservations around 7 on a Wednesday and we were seated promptly. The place wasn’t entirely full, but it was busy. We ordered sizzling sisig(pig’s face… yeah it’s exotic,) chicken adobo, seafood with vegetables, lechon kawali(crisp pork belly,) and crispy pata(pork leg) with garlic rice. Service was merely OK… food didn’t come out that quickly, and we had to call attention to the waitresses a few times… and I actually saw them microwaving rice to heat it up(haha what?) The food was as I said before, heavy. The adobo was on the sweeter side, as they make it with sugar cane but it was fine, albeit a bit overcooked. The sisig was good, but I couldn’t eat too much due to how rich it was. The same goes for the lechon and pata… don’t get me wrong it was good, but I started to feel a little unwell towards the end due to how much fat and oil you’re consuming. We ordered vegetables to offset how rich the rest of the food was, but in the twisted words of Radioactive Man, «My stomach! The vegetables do nothing!» The food and restaurant weren’t bad at all, but I don’t think I could see myself eating Filipino cuisine all too often due to how heavy it is. Definitely an acquired taste.
