Great coffee for starters. Attentive service and a rad atmosphere. Would recommend it.

I’m not too familiar with Hawthorn but Unilocal lead me straight here as the place to go for coffee on Glenferrie and it was spot on. This cute little café is tucked away in the Don Arcade, just between the train station and Glenferrie Rd. A small window with happy baristas is out the front and gives it the appearance of standing room only, but head down the back and there are some bigger tables and more seating in addition to a few small spots out the front. They use 5 Senses beans here, offering both espresso and filter options. There’s also a food cabinet, but I came here around 4pm and it had been well and truly cleaned out. Still a great little spot for a quiet coffee out the back. Recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a caffeine hit.

Tucked down an alley next to the Glenferrie station, I come here for a quick and reliably good coffee. Oscar and Mike serve up consistently the best coffee on Glenferrie. You know what you’re going to get and you know it’s going to be good. There are plenty of coffee drinking options, including cold drip; there’s also a selection for non-coffee drinkers. They sell a small range of eats to grab as you dash to the train, or to nibble as you sit on their milk crates and watch everyone else rush by.

I came here at around 11AM on a Tuesday morning for brunch, and although the space is tiny, there were a lot of empty seats around. One large table with seats and a couple of narrow tables along the sides, as well. It was my first time having coffee in Australia, and I explained that to the guy, who was more than helpful in making me a drink that I would like. After asking some questions about my coffee preferences, he made me something that I really don’t know what it was but it tasted good. :) I also had a toastie, which, with a coffee, is $ 6(pretty good price for Australia! First meal I’ve had that’s under $ 10. jk. actually, maybe. Lol) I was pretty confused about what toastie to get too(basically it’s a very small panini) so he gave me the most popular which was ham tomato cheese. When he came to give me my order, he offered to explain how the Australian coffee system worked, and the variations between iced coffee in all the different coffee shops. All in all, I was very satisfied with the food, coffee, service, and all around experience that I had. :)

Based on very high expectations, Oscar Mike’s coffee did not disappoint. Soy milk of choice is Bonsoy(with a 50cent extra charge). Great quality beans(5 seeds) are the material of choice and the barista was skilled and very friendly — service was also super quick. This is now officially my second favourite coffee place in Hawthorn. Life’s too short for disappointing coffees.

Excellent coffee in a very handy location just steps away from the gates of Glenferrie Station! The coffee is reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and service is quick. I haven’t tried their food but might pick up a salad one day and get back to you.
