Hmmm, where do I start. There’s a few things about this playground that some parents might find endearing and other’s will be panicked by. It probably depends on the age of the child and the supervision skills of the parent. Let me try to put all the pro’s and con’s together. Here goes; There’s a creek which runs behind the playground. It’s unfenced but creates a lovely space to add some ‘duck feeding’(aka ‘getting rid of stale crusts that no-one wants to eat’) to your time here. The creek runs over to the Fountain Valley Pond where you will find MORE ducks, a BBQ, a table under a small sheltered area, a table under some big gum trees, and as of last year, NOGEESE! There’s no fencing around the playground. It’s set back from the road and there are some bench chairs in between the road and the playground but you would still want to keep a keen eye out for your little ones, especially if they’re the sort to run in any direction at a moments notice. While there has obviously been some replanting, the closest trees to the playground aren’t big enough to provide shade. The only part with a rubber ground is the swings, the rest is bark chip. I can imagine it wouldn’t be the most ‘thrilling’ playground for older children, but if you like to be surrounded by a bit of nature(trees, ducks, creeks) than this is a good place to visit. While you’re at it, pack some sausages and head across the footbridge for a BBQ. It would be lovely to visit here during winter to see the creek a little more full and flowing. *No toilets*
