Consistently awesome. Delicious meals, generous portions, amazing pizzas. Faultless… though I’ll never understand why the Fantasia pizza got scratched. The only disappointment. A varied menu(including vegetarian and gluten free options as well as kids meals), impressive specials list and strong wine list — the Strand caters for everyone. Try to get a table outdoors if you don’t like the noise — it’s protected from the elements and the heaters will keep you warm on cold nights.

I dare you to find a better Eggs Benedict in Adelaide. No tired, deli ham here, simply delicious bacon featured in the dish. I did try the ham and cheese croissant a week ago and that was a little uninspired(not a rich, buttery croissant but more a bready, fluffy one). So my recommendation is try the Benedict or any of their egg dishes — my guess is they’ll excel in hot breakfasts.

2 people dining — ordered 2 entrees, 2 mains, 1 dessert and 11 drinks; all for $ 205.00! Pretty good value in my eyes. The food was amazing! Pork belly and soft shell crab were the entrees, prime rib and lamb shanks were main and pav for dessert! The only let down for me was the service. On arrival, we were greeted by a young waitress who took us to our seats and gave us menus. Then, nothing for 10 or so minutes. No water, no eye contact, nothing! They weren’t even that busy! Finally we had to called someone over ! This was the same story for the whole night!

The Strand is a rather large café style dining venue located on the very busy Jetty Road, Glenelg. It is a super large venue with modern décor and hard floors so it can get quite noisy but honestly that is what you should expect in such a busy location. I dined at The Strand recently with a rather large group of girls for a hens night. The staff were efficient and friendly. Drink service was quite speedy. A couple if errors were made with drink orders but they were fixed quickly and politely by the staff. I found meal prices to be a little on the expensive side for café style dining but the portion size was huge so it depends what you are looking for. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and only ate half, but the staff offered me a take away box which is something I would never ask for but I certainly appreciated the offer. Food came out within a reasonable time frame from ordering and what was exceptional when dining with so many people is that ALL of the meals came out at the same time! The Strand allowed us all to pay separately which is incredibly rare these days. Overall, I was really impressed. There are probably other restaurants in the area that I would rather dine at, but again it depends what you are looking for. I can’t fault the service and food was fairly standard café fare.

Staff are friendly and prompt. The place is accommodating and the staff move the tables around to suit your group. The food I had recently was particularly bland but I have had enjoyable meals before. It’s quite noisy but that only demonstrates how many people come here.

Awesome. Great food, great desserts. I’d love to come back. Too bad I live in another country, etc.

Lunch was relatively quick on a Monday. Food was good. Service was excellent. Prices were not too bad either.

This place doesn’t excite me unfortunately. Coffees are tiny and mine was bitter(big issue when you don’t add sugar to your coffee!), loud music in the middle of the day(when I felt like some quiet time), and no atmosphere. I have had dinner here before(pasta dish); that too didn’t excite me and was overpriced in my opinion. Staff — some are good, some not so good. One grabbed my(they thought) empty coffee cup off the table without even asking. It was quiet in the place but it made me feel like they wanted me out of there in a hurry! Not going back.

I came to The Strand for a dear friend’s birthday dinner and the service above all was wonderful. The extensive menu was slightly overwhelming for a person who always struggles to decide what to eat but I found salvation in the specials menu. The food I ordered was tasty but not quite as amazing as I expected but this was balanced out by great starters and gelato. Our waitress for the night was top notch and very knowledgable, as well as going the extra mile by giving us extra pita for our dips without us asking. Overall the experience was lovely but the food needed a bit more oomph and for the price I expected a bit more.

There’s lots of cool things about Radelaide but I’d say my main take out was that its restaurants have the most extensive menus EVER! The Stand has really done the indecisive meal chooser a favour by combining a squid and chicken salad and aptly naming it ‘The Squicken(squid & chicken) Salad’. I loved the salad and finished it off with a tiramasu which was great too.

My first and only experience at The Strand was just as good as everyone said it would be. When we first arrived there was no free tables but after only waiting a few minutes on some very comfy couches, they quickly opened one up for us. The service was prompt and very attentive to our needs as customers. I tried the Mediterranean Squicken which was a mixture of crispy chicken and salt and pepper squid with salad ingredients and a really yummy mustard dressing. Although it was a little pricey it was delicious and the serving was quite big even for a salad. My boyfriend had the tortellini carbonara which comes in a very small serve but is deceiving because of how rich and decadent it is. I didn’t have dessert but they all looked SO yummy and I definitely would have ordered one, if I had been able to fit it in. I would also recommend booking as it is a popular institution on the Jetty Rd strip.

This place has won the best-café-in-SA award about a bajillion times, and with good reason. The atmosphere’s nice and friendly. It fits the beach theme it’s going for well, which does a wonderful job of psyching you up for a visit to the beach once you’ve finished your meal.(Wait forty minutes before you go in the water, though! Or is it thirty minutes? Whatever. I never pay attention to that crap anyway.) I had what they call the Mediterranean Squicken, which is Mediterranean squid and marinated chicken served on a salad. I’m not a seafood person. I hate the stuff. Anything out of the sea gets a ‘no’ from me. But every now and then I like to make sure I STILL hate it. And now I’m in a pickle, because I don’t know whether I’ve undergone a taste-bud metamorphosis, or if it’s just a testament to the great food at ‘The Strand’. And then I washed it down with gelati, and that’s something I can comment on with the utmost confidence: it was delicious.

This is one of the best café restaurants around. It has won café of the year award about four times. It is another of my favourite haunts, particularly for breakfast where I usually have the English muffin with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon served to perfection. The Strand is run by the Papatoulis brothers, John and Tuss. These guys make the place warm, inviting, fun, and a bit of a party, just quietly. They hire amazing staff, or train them well, as service is excellent. I have spotted them downing a few shots with the staff before the evening trade to make it more fun for everyone(I am sure this isn’t usual, just a one off celebration, anyway whatever works!). Also they have been known to play pretty heavy duty dance music in the morning. Their pizzas are wonderful and the salt and pepper squid is to die for, especially served up with a fresh margarita! The food is consistently wonderful. Make sure you book on weekends as they get very busy and then it can be a little noisy so its great for the kids but not for Uncle Frank with the hearing aid. So for a party vibe, good food and atmosphere head on down and say hello to the boys.
